Karczma Osocznika

Karczma touches the walls of the ancient forest, where often in the same window comes up the royal bison. One of the basic elements of tradition and culture is a kitchen where is serves our regional dishes: Russian soup solyanka, siberian pelmieni with mea

The restaurant is located some 7 km from Bialowieza, in a kind of an open-air ethnographic museum. The huts, nice at a first glance, have very mediocre interior with furniture not antique, not modern, just tasteless. The waiter service was prompt and attentive but the food...We gave a pass to a bison steak at $50 and ordered instead a mashroom soup and two varietes of Russian dumplings. The soup was so-so but the dumplings were barely eatable. The meat variety was dry but was supposed to come with garlic sauce... ,alas, the cook must have concidered the garlic sauce as the very expensive item since he chose to serve only one spoon of it (for a portion of 15 dumplings, $9) Shame. The barley and cottage cheese variety was a bit better but still rather bland ($9, too).

This place is, as most places in Białowieża, serving traditional food and game meat. The place is really nice inside and the service was a bit informal but really nice. The prices are good for the food you get and the food is tasting good.

This "restaurant" (more a bar & tavern) is located in the center of Bialowieza in a small brick building, with some tables inside and some outside. Altough the lack of a very evident typical spirit, it enters anyway in the context of a village as Bialowieza is.The regional kitchen offer tasteful dishes such as potatoes cake and sausages, the famous pierogi and the deer in escalope, stew or other ways. I liked the lunch here, spending 19 zloty (about 4,50€).If I remember well, it is very near the municipal office in Sportowa (where there is also the beautiful Orthodox Church). It is open from April to October, h10-20.

We arrived in Bialowieza and wanted to find something to eat. This was the first restaurant we saw when arriving at the parc. It did not seem to bad and we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately for us, this was not such a good experience, even though the staff was very nice and tried hardly to speak English with us.The food we ordered was average. As the restaurant is just in fornt of the parc entrance, it was relatively touristic and therefore quite expensive, especially for the food quality. We were there on a hot day in august and could eat on the terrace. We unfortunately did not notice that there were a lot (but really a lot!) of wasps flying around, making our meal a little more complicated.I would not recommend you to eat in this restaurant if you have another choice. We are very sorry that you were disappointed after visiting our restaurant. We admit that we had a problem with wasps, but it is fixed now. We did it immediately after noticing it.We are trying our best to give you food which quality is really great. Despite the fact that you were not satisfied, we encourage you to come another time.Best Regards :-)

This restaurant had the best tasting Polish food I ate in Poland on our recent trip there. My appetizer of dumpling with foie gras came out looking like pierogies but oh, the taste...scrumptious!!! The steak tartar was also very good. Other members of my party were similarly satisfied. Too bad the tastelessly bland breakfast the following morning, albeit of large quanity and variety, was seemingly prepared by someone other than the excellent dinner team.

My dinner at Pokusa” was delicious- “pyszne”! Starting with a glass of Chilean Pinot Grigio while sitting only a few km away from the Belarus-Polish border underscored just how small our world really is. Dinner was lightly fried Perch with a cream mushroom sauce and toast. Seems an odd combination but it was wonderful. Desert - an orange cheesecake- fabulous. Attentive, friendly service. Would definitely go back if here longer. Sent from my iPhone
