Top quality, fantasy and passion for a new restaurant in Palestrina. Location very romantic and elegant.
We went to Anicia 39 because a friend of mine lives in Palestrina and knows the area pretty well.Anicia 39 is located on the main street, but from the outside it unfortunately looks more like a local coffee bar then a restaurant. The seating area is hidden away upstairs and beautifully decorated. But what counts is the food they served, and it was really delicious. As starters we shared bruschetta moscardini (baby octopus), a beautiful cheese plate with chutneys and delicious local honey, and Crocchette di ceci salsiccia e zafferano (Chickpea croquettes with sausage and saffron). For the main we had the Tagliata Porcini (sliced meat with mushrooms - which was my faviourite), Grigliata Mista (mixed grill) and the Tagliata Robespierre, ginepro e rosmarino (sliced meat with juniper and rosemary) and to finish it all off a nice and fresh pineapple with Amaretto and pana cotta - yummy!!!The prices are very descent and the service comes not only with a smile, but also with allot of attention to detail. This is a great place to enjoy some lovely local food.

Empty restaurant except obvious famil/friends of owners nursing babies at the best table in the house, surrounded by non-restaurant paraphanalia, playing on their phones. There were also about 5 people behind the bar wearing sweatpants and hoodies who leisurely make where I come to dine feel like a lounge where they scratch their balls and make loud jokes accross the "restaurant". Waitress didn't smile once, looked puzzled at me when I said " table for one". Water is overpriced. Carbonara was salty orange cheese on pasta. Calzone was 80% flavourless bread, 20% extremely salty cheese. Also there is a 1.5 euro surcharge for service. Portions weren't large. Dining experience 1/10, service 2/10, food 4/10.
Cena in famiglia x un'anniversario e mi son trovato bene...tutto buono dall'antipasto al dolce...mi son tanto divertito con la musica,l'unica nota stonata è che troppo alta...staff molto cordiale

If you're looking for very reasonably priced takeaway pizza & suppli in the Zagarolo area, this is the place to go. Takeaway for a family of 4 - â¬10 for a "lingua" (tongue - large rectangle) of pizza & â¬3 for 4 suppli, it's almost cheaper than doing the shopping & cooking at home. Haven't eaten in house since a while, but It's recently been done up, looks very nice inside. Recommended : )Thanks for your great review. When you return to Zagarolo we will be waiting for you from Pizzeria Rosso Peperoncino.

Grande varietà di pizze sempre molto condite,ma ogni volta che capito in questa pizzeria non posso fare a meno di prendere un mezzo pollo con patate. Buonissimo. Consiglio a tutti di provare.

What an interesting and as it turned out delightful surprise to done at Maydeli in San Cesareo, Italy. The young and creative chef with credentials from Italy, Japan and Ireland (?), has put together a truly wonderful menu that fuses his Italian roots with his love of and experience with Japanese cuisine. This is a new spot for the area, highly contemporary in design and we suspect popular with the 30 & 40's set. The chef came to our table, he speaks the best English if his staff, to talk about his background and the dishes. What we called a fusion, he, in slightly awkward translation, called a happy contamination! Nothing contaminated about our dinner. It was great'

The service at this restaurant was apalling. Because we were english we were treated like second class citizens. We wanted a table with a view and were eventually given this but when we requested it - after we were sat on cheap plastic seats on the lower floor of the restaurant, we could clearly hear a waitress saying in italian, don't give it to them to waiter who decided in the end after we explained that it was our friends birthday that day, that we could sit on the balcony. This waitress wasn't happy that he had undermined her though. Not a great start but we thought the food would make up for it. We were wrong....As well as the service being poor, the food wasn't great at all. I had chicken, which was the worst meal I have had in a long time. .In short I would avoid this restaurant and go to one in San Careso which isn't far. We found some really nice places to eat there during our two weeks in Italy. I feel quite strongly about how poor the service and food was that I had to write this review. I have also been nagged by my family to put this up as they were apalled at how bad this was compared to everywhere else we ate.I hope this helps you during your trip and saves you a few quid as it was very expensive.Best wishesSharon

cucina italiana,piatti romani,ottima carne,pesce fresco e pizza alla romana,ambiente familiare.Qualità al giusto prezzo
We found this place by accident while trying to get out of the tourist-centric Tivoli and find some places where the locals went to eat. The staff barely spoke English and the menu was only in Italian (always a good sign), but we managed to decipher it enough to order. The waitresses were very friendly, as was the boss.Pizza is only available in the evening, but it's unbelievable. We had a white Pizza Patate (Mozarella, potato, and Rosemary) on the recommendation of the waitress. I was pretty dubious as potatoes on a pizza sounds stodgy to me, but when it came it was glorious. For â¬6.50 you get a large, very thin and light pizza, with a wonderful mixture of flavours, easily the best pizza I have ever had. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, including my other half's pasta, which was also homemade and scrumptious. It was so good we went back the next day for lunch. If you take a 10 minute walk from Tivoli to this restaurant you will be well rewarded.
