We visited La Scala on the last night of our Duinrell stay and are gutted we didnât find it sooner.Lovely sharers of the homemade bread and garlic butter (yum!) and the pizzas and pastas we had were Devine.Calzone Special - one of the best calzones Iâve ever hadQuattro Formagi pasta - 3 of the kids in our party had this (including our 1 year old) who ate it all up. Really tasty dishesHad a bit of a wait for our mains due to an extremely large takeaway pizza order that had been made just as we arrived - but canât fault them for the delay as 30 boxes went out of the door. At that point we knew we were probably onto a winner!

Take place in this gemütlich, nice and cozy restaurant. Try one of our healthy smoothies, fresh salads, vegan pizzas and other delicious main dishes. It is also possible to play boardgames with friends and we're child friendly!
I've never been to a restaurant before where the chef openly greats you and who's genuinely nice and passionate about what he does until I discovered this place.Aside from the awesome industrial interior design and the nice service, the place makes you feel comfortable at once. I haven't really tried all of their food, but I can definitely say that I love the "kip kapsalon" and the Tom Kha Kai soup.

We visited on the recommendation of our hotel. It is a busy place with great food and service. Try the beef carpaccio, the salmon with pesto and the halibut. All were great. You need a reservation and it can be loud. Seemed like the mean age was 30.

Ristorante Pizzeria Karalis is renowned in Leiden and surroundings since 1977. Our menu represents classical Italian dishes, with a strong accent on the island of Sardinia, where we have our roots. Divided over 3 separate rooms we have space for over 200
On a recent visit to Leiden university, our large group went here for dinner after getting some recommendations. With there being so many of us, we didn't bother with starters. Most of us had pizza. I meant to order the ortolana but ended up ordering the one above as it's name ran over onto the next line. This was the rucola pomodoro & parmigiano. It was very nice anyway and gave my first time trying a pizza with 'non oven-baked' ingredients. One that didn't go down well in our group was the Papps e citti - ham, onions, asparagus, olives. It was dripping with oil. Far too greasy. We didn't get pudding as we blew the budget on cocktails - I recommend the 'Hugo!' Although some of the puddings we saw being taken to other tables did make us regret our decision!I'd recommend this place if you're looking for proper Italian food in Leiden - very authentic!

We stumbled upon this little gem at lunchtime and had bruschetta and pizza. A warm welcome, great service, delicious food and at an excellent price. They cater well for children with smaller pizzas and a wide variety of pasta dishes. We will definitely return during our holiday.

A very âItalian styleâ, cosy and welcoming restaurant. Staff very friendly and pleasant. The menu has a little for anybody, pizza, pasta and salads. I settled for the Ravioli Tartufati, a spinach and ricotta filled ravioli. It was an excellent choice and very tasty. They serve beer or wine and by the glass. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Super friendly staff. Really quick service and food was cooked just right. It was a nice surprise that they did more then just pizza. We all ended having pizza anyhow but if we do return itâs nice to know there is more variety available.
