We stumbled across La Gioiosa on a two night stay in Perugia and are happy to say it was an excellent restaurant find for us especially as it was all "by chance'. The place is an obvious local favorite with a wide variety of Italian favorite" menu items available and as such fills up fast. Make sure you arrive early and be prepared for a short wait. The staff are terrific and did their best to guide two non Italian speaking customers through the menu. The pizza and pasta we tried were first rate and ranked with the best we encountered during our one month trip in Italy. The head waiter was particulaily charming

With a group of friends we chose this restaurant-pizzeria several years ago to have frequent get-togethers as it's about halfway between Perugia and Marsciano. Of course that's not the only reason! We have become regular customers because of the delicious seafood selections that never fail to satisfy even the most voracious appetites,and at a reasonable price. We see outstanding pizzas going to other tables but we've never tried them.

It takes a local to know the right places to go and we were lucky to meet an American lady who has lived in the area for more than 25 years who recommended this super pizza joint just around the corner from the Alla Posti dei Donini hotel. We only tried one of the pizzas but was very impressive!

The restaurant is located in a beautiful village from where you can have a splendid view over the mountains and you can see in the horizon cities like Perugia and Torgiano. You can have different pizzas, pastas, great grilled meat or total menu with reasonable price and always ask what is kitchen's daily menu. Ask restaurant's own sommelier what wine he would suggest for you lunch or dinner. P.S They will also open their renovated small hotel with spa in the near future.Grazie

We were staying at an agriturismo in Torgiano and felt like having pizza for dinner. I searched through Trip Advisor for locations close by and found this little gem. Not only was the pizza wonderful but the two owners of the establishment were incredible hosts. We enjoyed both our conversation and the pizza was exquisite. Highly recommended.

My husband and I have our Friday pizza tradition. This time we were afraid of finding no place because it was quite late (9 p.m.) and we had no clue where to go.We run into this nice place with paper table clothes and wood boards as dishes feeling we had no choice. What a mistake!We had plenty of choice between many different pizzas having tasty toppings on a fabulous crunchy base. Delicious!!!Also the staff is nice and kind while the family atmosphere (TV and kids are welcome) make you feel at home.

we are a couple in our sixties and ate here two evenings running as we enjoyed the first evening so much.The menu is good with a fish special ( on Thursdays I think) and other menu gastronomic - we tried both. Staff very friendly. Particularly good waiter with good english.Pizzas are also very good, very large!Good wine.the second time there was childrens party going on so very very noisy - did not bother us but may be a consideration for others ( check first)

In Italy we love a pasta lunch. Today was quiet in Torgiano, with hardly any tourists about. The tourist information shop suggested we try this restaurant for lunch so we did.To be fair my wife was very happy with her dish of fettuccine with porcini mushrooms. Unfortunately my pasta was undercooked and came with fairly tasteless chopped tomatoes and nothing else. My glass of house white wine at â¬3.50 was very good but we were disappointed that no bread was offered despite having to pay a cover charge. All in all, wouldnât be rushing back to this one.
