Situated in the heart of Galway West End is Mona Lisa, a new and authentic Italian Restaurant. Walking through the door you will immediatly feel the mediterranean character and relaxed atmosphere where you can unwind with glass of wine that has been caref
Having read some of the other reviews on here, we expected a more memorable experience than the one we had. And if Mona Lisa is truly better than other Italian restaurants in Galway, then other cuisines would be a better option. Starting with our arrival, and we had made a reservation, there was almost indifference to our presence, and the service, while efficient, was not particularly warm nor friendly. We did observe much more attention and interest on the part of the staff to the patrons at some other tables, who were clearly regulars. But given that food is the central focus for most diners, this is where Mona Lisa falls short. One exception, however, is their pizza. The Margherita was almost memorable. The crust was light, thin and crisp, and the tomato sauce full of flavour. The mozzarella however was rather pedestrian and bland - if buffalo mozzarella had been used it would have been a pretty good menu item. The chicken was rubbery and flavourless and seemed like it has come from a catering supplier. The pasta in the tagliatelle was overcooked and the accompanying sauce uninspiring. I could comment on some of the other dishes selected by our group but none of them stand out. We chose, against our normal habit, not to stay for dessert and coffee, so in fairness can't comment on that part of the meal. But I'd be amazed if Mona Lisa's desserts are anything special. So, to sum up, there is not much to shout about this restaurant, but should you go, you should perhaps stick to the pizzas and calzones, which are probably the safest bet.

We stopped here for lunch as we wanted a break from Irish food. We were hoping to find a little taste of Italy in Ireland and this cute little restaurant did not disappoint. Pizza is made in a wood fired oven. Mixed salad contained extremely fresh ingredients. We had a delicious Tiramisu for dessert. Recommend this as a great casual lunch stop with table service. We would go there again for sure!Thank you, we are delighted you enjoyed Woozza Pizza :)

We had lunch here our first day in Galway as we were staying in the Salthill area. We were so impressed with our lunch as both of our meals were wonderful and the service was impeccable. Since we enjoyed it so much for lunch we decided to go there the next evening for dinner and this time had a mediocre experience. The service was spotty and the food was just ok. It was so disappointing as we totally loved it the first time. So with a five for lunch and a three for dinner - this ended up being a four.

We are a new Italian restaurant and pizzeria in the central of Galway City. As a family run restaurant, the atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming and family friendly, just like our food! Everything is homemade at Da Paulino's Ristorante Italiano
Family vacation brought us to Galway where we needed a nice change from the usual Irish restaurant meals. We discovered Da Paulinoâs on-line and decided to try it. We all enjoyed the dishes we tried (Garlic bread with mozzarella, Cesar salad, Margarita pizza, Cannoli, pasta with chicken, white wine (owner recommendation), and a Coke.We arrived about 18 minutes before closing and weâre still taken good care of by the owner.Weâre staying in Galway 3 days and will be back for another visit or two before we depart.IF this place was in our hometown it would be our âTo go to Italian restaurant.âWonderful meal and reasonable price.Delizioso!

We were a walk in party of 3 at 7:30pm on a Wednesday evening and no problem getting a table. All our food was excellent - sea bass, chicken with Gorgonzola, pizza, tiramisu. Service friendly and speedy without being rushed. Definitely a good decision to try this out and we could be back again tomorrow!

Wonderful meal with a fantastic atmosphere. Very authentic italian food. Desperately wanted to try the Tiramasu, but was far too full! We had salmon slices, as well as Arancini al Ragu, for starters, which were devine! Our mains were Polo alla Valdonstana (chicken breast with ham and sauce), and the Agnolotti di Carne (meat Ravioli....), which were both fantastic! Highly recommend this restaurant.

My husband and I called in here for the first time on Saturday night. The servers were very friendly and helpful. We were promptly seated and well looked after. We had a very very good pizza and a fantastic bowl of seafood pasta that was a huge portion with loads of seafood. Great value and nice chilled atmosphere. We will certainly come back.
