Find out what Pizza restaurants to try in Southampton. Southwest of London is Southampton (Soton to the locals), a metropolitan area centered around the port. However, tucked away on the side streets are ancient gems such as the Tudor House, Mottisfont Abbey, and "God's House," a museum located in a tower in the medieval wall. The ultra-modern Sea City Museum celebrates Southampton's seafaring past and the RMS Titanic. Looking for nightlife? Travelers can dance the hours away with bars, clubs, and live music, all accessible by public transportation.

I visited with a friend for lunch on a Thursday. I ordered two starters: a seafood soup, and butterfly prawns. The soup was so-so, with the liquor rather thick with tomatoes. The butterfly prawns were magnificent. Incredibly fresh and with a great peppery sauce. I finished with a coffee, which was one of the best I have tasted recently. Very strong and with a great taste. My friend enjoyed his chicken dish with penne pasta, also a well-made dessert. Only three tables were in operation. The service was friendly and efficient.

Been visiting since opening. New (forcefully applied) rules seem to now be in place including 24h booking for birthday meals, and exactly matching courses to get free meal (even though cost was more). Portions sizes are definitely smaller that they used to be i.e for pizzas you can now see plenty of plate around it! Garlic pizza bread was very thin crispy so the children (who previously devoured it) left nearly half. Not an issue if was expected, but was not great based on previous experiences here.

The food was very good, and the server we had was attentive, explained she was new and was helpful. However, when ordering ciders we explicitly said we wanted to do the pint and pizza deal for £10. We asked for flavoured ciders and ordered some of these. At the end, one of these was excluded from the offer due to being in a bottle however we werenât told that this was excluded when we ordered.A simple mistake due to the new server, however we were made to feel as if this was our fault and that we should have realised so we had to pay more. Not sure I would want to go back now if thatâs how they want to play it...Hi 715Stevef,Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback. As you've explained due to a new StableHand these things can happen, but unfortunately i cannot solve this problem on Tripadvisor. So can i ask you to either complete the Feedback code at the bottom of the bill or alternatively let us know about your visit on [email protected], this way i can follow up your visit, investigate and make this problem right. Many Thanks Alan Henley General Manager

Given all the strong reviews we chose this place for lunch. Unfortunately, typical English food standards are so low that it's hard to know what to make of a good recommendation. The very full menu was promising, the service friendly (if a bit unprofessional), but it was a disappointment from there. For all it's Italian credentials the too-loud Mexican (?) music was bemusing, and the house wine (Merlot, a popular choice, according to the waitress who then told me she didn't like wine) was a let down. Sounding like something original and tasty, I ordered the pumpkin-potato gnocchi with a sage butter sauce, which arrived swimming in over-salted clarified butter (probably 1/2 cup's worth!) flecked with chopped sage. The (tasteless) focaccia arrived after the second request which helped to soak up some of the butter, but I had to leave most of it in the dish or I would have been ill. Luckily I had opted for the started size, accompanied by a mixed green salad which was too simple to get wrong.

One of the area's most friendly, and welcoming Italian restaurants, Piccolo Mondo 1 is the oldest in the city, having been established since 1969.Piccolo Mondo is open for lunch and evening meals. With seating for only 34 people, it is small enough to hav
Second visit and excellent again. A "proper" Italian with good atmosphere and traditional feel. Very friendly, accommodating and happy owner and staff. Also friendly customers with great pre-match chat. I was told the restaurant has been here 50 years - testament to a great restaurant. Dessert was excellent ..... a 9-0 win.

I Went to Popiâs With my partner, sister in law, Italians and daughters of a proud former pizzaiolo ;) along with my and 2yo little son last Saturday and I canât say enough about the place, the girls on the floor service are brilliant, so friendly and helpful. The pizza is perfect, light and tasty dough, very nice menu choices, that makes difficult to pick from, delicious. We live in London and every time we go out for a pizza or any other meal thereâs a complaint about something, ALWAYS apart from last Saturday.Thank you all and itâs such a pity you are so far from us.Thatâs amazing! We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit! Hopefully we will see you again when you make it out of London next time :)
