Reviews on Pizza food in Samarkand, Samarqand Province, Uzbekistan. Samarkand (Uzbek Latin: Samarqand; Uzbek Cyrillic and Tajik: Самарқанд; Persian: سمرقند; Russian: Самарканд; Greek: Σαμαρκάνδη), alternatively Samarqand, is a city in modern-day Uzbekistan and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia. There is evidence of human activity in the area of the city from the late Paleolithic era, though there is no direct evidence of when exactly Samarkand was founded; some theories propose that it was founded between the 8th and 7th centuries BC. Prospering from its location on the Silk Road between China and the Mediterranean, at times Samarkand was one of the greatest cities of Central Asia.

Service and interieur are very mediocre, but then it is the only italian restaurant downtown. If you cannot wait to get another taste or you are really desperate for italian food, you might want to try Venizia, but don't expect too much. The Pizza was rather sad, way too much cheese.
This is a great place for dinner and I really recommend it. Has a good selection including several veggie dishes. The pizza was the best I have had in Uzbekistan. Proper sauce, thin crispy base and real cheese. The staff are friendly and an English menu is available.Go try it!
