We weren't really impressed... The lasagna had more cheese than anything else. My pasta Al Forno was okay but both dishes looked like they were placed under a flame broiler for a bit too long (too many burnt edges). The place is split into two sections (north & south). We sat in the south section having asked for a more quiet area. That worked out okay as we could hear a lot of noise coming from the other section. There were numerous TV's in both areas. Thankfully without sound.The service was okay but the prices were nothing to write home about. Overall, we didn't think that it was any better than other Italian establishments we have dined at.

An unusual and charming restaurant right off the Pacific Coast Highway. If you are a first timer your server will tell you it's a "family restaurant" with BIG portions. He was not kidding. But they have lots of boxes for you to take home the rest.The decor is very 30s-50s italian with long tables, leather banquets, and lots of boxing pictures along with the movie stars. I looked at others eating "specialties" like chicken canalloni, but decided to try simple, comparable fare -- spaghetti and meatballs. The whole bowl and each meatball was huge.The spaghetti was a perfect al dente and the meatballs marvelously seasoned. A winner. However, I am subtracting a star because the spaghetti was not colundared, leaving water in the bottom of the bowl. Naughty. But, it was very busy so there might have been a rush.All in all, if you like Italian food and are in Redondo Beach, and have a good appetite, you will like Buca di Beppo.

Went with my wife and grown children. Had a reservation and were promptly seated. Wine is fairly priced. I recommend the calimari as a starter, sautéed not fried. We raved about the risotto, the lasagna and the chicken Marsala. Attentive staff! A must try!

Food was expensive for a late 2pm lunch. I suppose the price is typical for Redondo Beach. I discovered I appreciate the usual sausage, pepperoni pizzas and will not reduce review rating on that basis. The rest of our group enjoyed the tuna salad, sweet sausage pizza, prosciutto arugula pizza and wine. This restaurant was chosen because it was not crowded. We had an infant and wanted a quieter environment. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Even though the bottle of water was on the table, the server continued to pour the water into our glass. That was an unexpected gesture. Paid street parking was available. We had no coins but the meters accepted credit cards.
