As a long-time resident of the area, I used to frequent Al Portego often...ownership changed, the name changed, and I didn't feel the same "vibes" that I did in the past...We've been talking about giving the restaurant "another chance", since ownership changed again--and the original name returned as well--and I'm glad that we did. We had an excellent meal recently, and will be back again! Enjoyed the fagottini alle pera--the nuts and bacon were a nice touch--and the items with truffles were outstanding--the tagliata with truffles and grana melted in my mouth. Service was efficient and friendly as well.

Da Angelo's is one of my favorite restaurants in Vicenza, their pizza is the best that I've had outside of Naples. The family that owns Da Angelo is from Amalfi and their menu and daily specials feature dishes and ingredients originating from that region (fish, mozzarella di bufala, etc.). In addition to traditional Italian trattoria fare (pasta, pizza, meat/seafood) they also have numerous hearty meal-size salads on the menu (insalatone). The house wine is local, cheap and delicious. The ambiance is a typical Italian trattoria and the service is always friendly, prompt and attentive. Also notable, they serve pizza at lunch which is not very common in Italy. They are closed Tuesdays.

Hands down the best food in Vicenza. The tortelli di patate is amazing, although only a seasonal dish. Of course the pizza is great as most other places in the area. Wait staff was always extremely friendly. Put this place on your list.

I have had pizza Al Company on my own a couple of times and I have to say that the pizza is huge. So tasty, wide choice of pizzas and very good service. But, I had as well the opportunity to have dinner with friends and at that time I went for the see food. Well...amazing...luckily one of my friends suggested me to share a plate with him...and we had the "quadro di pesce". It's a starter but so huge and you can have it for two or more people. There's a variety of bites...tuna tartare, sword fish carpaccio, anchovy on toasted bread, octopus salad and more. Also we shared a portion of fish fried and it was so good and not deep fried so very light as food! The service is good despite the owner a little bit grumpy but luckily he his only at the check out. Very well recommended this place!

Despite being a take-away restaurant, you can eat outside, with plastic knives and forks, The people are very friendly, don't speak English, but serve a very nice and cheap pizza! The food in our hotel wasn't very fine, so we where glad to find Madison Pizza 2.
Top 4 Soups food in Quinto Vicentino, Province of Vicenza, Italy
The pizza here is some of the best in Italy!!! The food is great and always prepared with fresh ingredients. I stop in once a month to get pizzas for the family. If you have kids, try the USA pizza (hot dogs and fries)....they will love it.

I would say this is an average place, although the menu is huge! It took forever just to go through it, and I never got all the way through it. One thing I enjoyed is that they are now offering seasonal zucchini flower dishes. I got the gnocchi with mascarpone and zucchini flowers, and I enjoyed it. Kids got gnocchi or pizza, and they enjoyed it. Comfortable and family friendly.

I have been visiting Vicenza a few days back and immediately felt the need of a nice Italian pizza (I am Italian but live abroad and this is one of the food items I miss the most...).At any rate, not really knowing the places in Vicenza, I have gone to the faithful Tripadvisor to see what places could be worth a visit.Apparently, Tony's Pizza has several good reviews and I, therefore, decide to visit with family.Let's start with the locale: the area the restaurant is in, is a not nice periphery of Vicenza - the city center is a couple of kilometres away and walking is not an option unfortunately. The restaurant itself is very spartan and easy, which is quite ok for me as I am used to places which concentrate on the substance (i.e. good food), although I admit it is a bit 70's like (overlook hotel anyone?) and very small. We were sat outside.Let's now come to the food - for a place that does one thing and one thing only (pizza) I am expecting it to make a GREAT pizza.Unfortunately, it was only mediocre, even though (apparently) the ingredients used were of good quality... perhaps their transformation changed their organoleptic properties. The family serving in the place were all easy and kind, although not efficient (we had to wait sometime before some pizzas arrived) but all in all ok.Based on my experience, I would not recommend this place and would not go there myself again. Therefore my score.
