Established in 2015, Giancarlo's Italian is East Lothian's newest family-run Italian restaurant. Named runner up for 'Best Restaurant over 50 seats' & runner up for 'Best pizzeria' at the 2015 Italian Awards, we have great passion for what we do, and take
We regularly visit this local restaurant and each time everything is perfect. I think Iâve provably had most things on the menu but would have to recommend the âInsalata Capreseâ - fresh mozzarella and tomatoes and âAgnolotti Allâ asticeâ - fresh lobster pasta. The Arancini is also delicious. The kids are more than happy with choices from their menus. The restaurant is always clean and well presented. Good music. Nice ambiance. Staff are always very friendly and will always go the extra mile. The French Martinis here are the best Iâve had!! The Miol Prosecco also goes down well. Nice little touch with flowers on the desk as you arrive too. All round a great place to visit, with partners, kids, family, and friends

Perfectly located on Musselburgh High Street, Dal Patino is the perfect authentic Italian dining experience day or night in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.
Weâve been here a few times and always enjoyed the job, ambience and the fact that it is a pleasant, small family run Italian.I had a few issues with my last visit with my main, a Cod dish being rather poor, under seasoned and not the freshest but put this down to a hiccup. My wife and I went down last Friday and I was disappointed by my flavourless, under seasoned aubergine and mozzarella starter. We never usually order pizza hear but fancied a change and quickly regret that decision. We ordered a burrata and Nduja flavoured pizza each but when it came out it was lukewarm, bordering on cold. Come on this is 2019 hot plates, hot food, happy customer! The pizza was very bare and also extremely salty (and I like salt!). After eating less then a half we gave up and I told the waiter that the pizza was cold and salty, his reply was to shrug his shoulders and say âNduja is saltyâ. Both he and the chef/owner seemed entirely unfazed by the fact that they had just served inedible food to their customers. Only a poor quality Nduja is salty as extra salt is adding during the curing process to speed it up and increase yield, perhaps moving to a better product (and please taste first) and just increase your price a little to account for this. No brainier! We paid our bill and promptly left never to return which is a shame. As we left I watched another 4 plates leave the kitchen and go to a table without a hint of steam rising from the top, enjoy!

It is a really friendly takeaway and restaurant with really lovely, freshly cooked food. Tables are formica and kinda retro in a funny way!! Drinks menu very limited as no wine the night we visited. Most importantly the food is excellent

The Caprice is a family run restaurant in the historical town of Musselburgh. Established in 1969 we specialise in a Italian Swiss cuisine, with Over 50 years experience. Our Succulent pizzas are cooked in the traditional manner, in a Wood Fired Oven to g
I've had many good experiences with the Caprice before but this evening was really disappointing....the order turned up much earlier than expected which was odd, only to find that we were given the wrong order. We did promptly get a phone call to apologise which was good. 45 minutes the rest of our order turned up, the pizza compared to previous orders/visits was very dried out like it had been sitting either in the restaurant or in a delivery car/van. However, the thing I found really worrying was that the driver asked for the other pizzas back, they had been sitting getting cold for 45 mins!! Really made me feel uncomfortable that those pizzas might actually be delivered to someone else and no offer of compensation or anything additional for the inconvenience. It's a shame because it would put me off ordering again, certainly for home delivery!

A family run Italian restaurant that works hard to give the locals the very best in Italian cuisine. With a proven record of quality, we show off many of our accolades as soon as you walk through the front door. It doesn't end there. With great food comes
Visited with friends last Saturday for lunch. Not too busy and we were seated quickly. Good menus with option for set lunch or alacarte. The specials were completley different from the menus which were nice to see. We all went for pasta dishes and nothing was left. Good flavours and definately the best Italian in Midlothian. Service brilliant and a nice bottle of wine to finish it off. I believe they are now building a bar area which will be a nice addition next year.
