One of the most popular resort towns on the Italian Riviera, little Portofino has just over 500 permanent residents. But that all changes on summer days when the sun is shining and the yachting set drops anchor in the harbor to wander about. Boutiques, art galleries, cafes and restaurants line the tiny streets. Diving, hiking and beach-going are popular local pastimes, and there are even some historic sights like the Church of St. Martin (Divo Martino) and the Castello Brown hilltop fortress.

We had lunch here, it is typical Italian home cooked food - Pizzas, pasta, cooked like the Nonna's cooked. Great value - and perfect restaurant to bring a family. On this weekend lunch time there were local family's out together, celebrating Birthday's, or just enjoying family time together in a simple but authentic setting - in nice weather there is an outdoor area to sit.

Wide menu choice, delicious food, friendly and efficient service, and fabulous location on the boardwalk. What more can I say. Priced to give absolutely outstanding value. Based on my experience they do an especially great job with fried seafood if thatâs what youâre in the mood for. Popular with locals and visitors alike.

At "Da Nicola" restaurant and pizzeria you will find a traditional italian restaurant that will leave you sattisfied, based behind the famous piazzetta you can have a fantastic pizza or you can have somenthing from our restaurant menu
Decided to eat here as it was lunchtime and we fancied a pizza. Very good prompt and friendly service. Good pizzas and beer. A good position on the waters edge which you pay for a little in the pricing. We enjoyed it though.

My husband and I went to this restaurant and were terribly disappointed. My husband ordered the soup which was cold and inedible. Our waitress tried to sell him on it by taking the spoon and pointing out the beans and the âI donât know what that is calledâ in it. As we sat eating our pizza staff members carried bags of garbage past our table along with the organic waste pail (there went the soup).Staff seemed more interested in changing out of their uniforms and waving good bye to fellow members than looking after patrons. All in all, I would have to say that this is the worst restaurant we have ever been to in Italy and we have travelled this country extensively. There are plenty of other options within the area. I would recommend one try somewhere else.

This was our favourite restaurant when we visited Santa Margherita. Very popular with the locals so you just know it will be good, even though our Italian is rubbish and the people who work there looked very busy, so didnât have much time for pleasantries - the food was great each time we ate there. Gorgeous pizzas with a very thin crust and delicious toppings, fab taglionine al salmone and sea bass Ligurian style yummy. The owner was very pleased when I told him âsembre Al Pacinoâ Go there, you wonât be disappointed

Having been told about the Trattoria we decided to turn up 5 minutes after they opened. All but one table had been pre-booked. All the customers were Italian except us the food was brilliant. We ordered ravioli with cheese and walnuts. An unusual combination but superb. I ordered Troffe ( a type of small pasta) with scampi and saffron sauce. Very yellow and very tasty. My wife then had veal rump with courgettes in a masala sauce which was absolutely gorgeous. I had a plate of grilled fish with frittata and grilled veggies which was so sweet and fresh. The portions were exceptionally generous so didnât have a desert. The whole experience was superb and by far the best meal of our holiday. We will be back in 6 weeks.

The queues outside this restaurant are quite something - the line finally disappeared about 10pm! but it was worth the wait. To save time, we chose our food while queuing and ordered directly. The pizza came quickly and was enormous!Service was quick, though they're so busy that sometimes little mistakes happen (they forgot our knives - I just went and got some). They're friendly and pleasant.Important - cash only!

I almost don't want to write this review as I don't want this little gem of a restaurant to be overrun.Among all the over priced pretentious restaurants in this over crowded tourist town this little place serves great value excellent food at proper prices... litre of wine â¬18 and a pizza about â¬10. Friendly service.

I had lunch with my boyfriend during one relaxing day in Portofino. Gnocchi al pesto for me and insalata di polipo for him. We ordered and got the dishes in a blink of an eye: the food was nice, homely cooked really lovely. Waiters pleasant. Suggested for an easy lunch.
