Things to do in Pickering
The other day, a friend and I decided to grab a bite to eat.Seeing there is a PAPA JOHN'S just down the road, we decided to grab a PIZZA.Having enjoyed the pizza from the Niagara Falls PAPA JOHN'S, we figured that the same pizza and service was available in PICKERING.WELL, WE WERE WRONG about that assumption. The pizza was good, as the cheese is still a favourite of my friends. The Meat-Lovers pizza is what we ordered, as we both like that selection, and of course we both KNEW that at PJ'S we wouldn't have to wait too long for our pizza!WRONG we were, because we waited for about half an hour for our pizza to be ready. After waiting patiently inside the store for at least 20 MINUTES, we decided to step outside and grab some FRESH AIR.My friend went back into the store twice to see if our pizza was ready, and she was told both times that it would be about 10 more minutes. As soon as she came out of the store the second time, I went into the store and noticed a pizza that had been sitting on the shelf for a couple of minutes.I asked if our pizza was ready, I was told NO, your pizza will be about 10 more minutes.I asked what was taking so long with our pizza, I was told that it takes 10 minutes for any pizza to be made.I explained that we travel a lot, and we are repeat customers of PAPA JOHN'S, and we never ever had to wait for over half an hour for a pizza before, the pizza maker got upset with me and said it would take 10 more minutes for our pizza.I pointed to the lone pizza sitting on the counter, I asked who is that pizza for, HE asked me what name the pizza was for, that we were waiting for, I responded with my friends name.He said, this is the pizza that you are waiting for, I asked how long the pizza had been ready for us.HE looked at me and said, this pizza just got out of the oven !I personally saw the pizza sitting there for a couple of minutes, and I was ready to ask for the money back for this semi-warm pizza, but my friend was famished and really looking forward to a PAPA JOHN'S pizza, so we decided to just take the pizza and hoped it was warm.WE were WRONG on that assumption also.Having been able to reflect back on the usual SERVICE and QUALITY of the numerous other PAPA JOHN'S, we are surprised at the LACK of both of these standards at this particular PAPA JOHN'S in PICKERING ONTARIO at 820 Kingston Road.So if you are not too impressed by this particular store, rest assured, this is NOT the usual service that PAPA JOHN'S delivers.I for one, am DISAPPOINTED that this type of SERVICE and BEHAVIOUR is going on in Pickering. My friend is NOT going to try this place again, and after having a cool pizza, I can't blame her, but I might convince her to try another PAPA JOHN'S somewhere other than here !With any luck the manager of this store will read this and set the PIZZA PERSON in their place, explain to him that bold faced LYING to a customer is NOT usual PAPA JOHN'S customs.

We unwittingly called in here for lunch after shopping in the area. Unfortunately, it was shortly after the kickoff for the England/Croatia World Cup semi final. The bar area was busy but not crowded but 15 of the 16 screens were showing the match. The 16th, Wimbledon. The server came over quite quickly with menus and also took our drinks order. My wife has an intolerance to any pork products and so ordered a pecan chicken salad but specifically, without the bacon bits. My daughter and I ordered the new Kickân Memphis Chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich is meant to be a replacement for their trusted Buffalo Chicken sandwich. While it is nice to have sliced jalapeños between the bread I was disappointed to taste the chicken had a much more oily coating. The bread itself is a bun, no longer the better tasting baguette. I can only presume these are less expensive options for BP.Several bites in to the salad my wife discovered several pieces of bacon on the underside of her spinach and lettuce. At this point she also knew that she had eaten some. She sent the salad back and a fresh one was prepared, this time with no hint of bacon. While this was being done she spent about 15 minutes in the bathroom, recovering from the after affect of having consumed some of the bacon. Our waitress was most apologetic and to her credit we did not get charged for the cost of the salad in our bill. The restrooms were clean and accessible. Parking is freely available close to the restaurant. We left shortly before the final whistle for the match but my wife is still feeling the after affects and didnât eat most of her salad.Hi, Hutch. If you are looking for a decent Pizza in southwest Pickering, then Gino's is a pretty good choice.Plenty of parking and a good size pizza at a reasonable price.Call ahead, as the pizza will take about 25 minutes or so to make. Don't be set off by the generally rude sounding people on the phone. Customer service is not a high point here, but you are really here for the food. There are some good walk-in specials and the single slices are a good size.

Super exceptional quality at lightning fast speed & mouth watering dishes is what Vis-Ã -Vis is all about. Vis-Ã -Vis stone baked oven spins at 1000 degrees, has your pizza fast-fired & perfectly crisp to perfection within seconds. Rate for yourself _
Selection of pizza is fantastic - the pizza sauce is to die for and the pizza crust is perfectly made and cooked. Pasta is also delicious. The staff were very patient and friendly. It is counter service with a liquor license - they have Stella on tap which was a nice complement to the pizza. Canât wait to go back.

Had dinner at Amici's with my wife and sister-in-law. We came here because of the previous reports on TripAdvisor and were not disappointed in any way. Everything about this place was excellent! Our server, Marco, was one of the best waiters we've ever had. He was extremely attentive, knowledgable and friendly. The food was extremely good as well. My sister-in-law raved about her appetizer and her entree. My wife did the same. I had the Ceaser salad, which was huge and very delicious. My entree, the veal parmigiana, was equally as tasty. We would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Pickering, Canada area.
