Piacenza [pjaˈtʃɛntsa] listen (help·info) (Emilian-Romagnol: Piasëinsa, Latin: Placentia) is a city and comune in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. It is the capital of the province of Piacenza. Modern forms of the name descend from Latin Placentia. The etymology is long-standing, tracing an origin from the Latin verb placēre, "to please." In French, and occasionally in English, it is called Plaisance. The name means a "pleasant abode", or as James Boswell reported some of the etymologists of his time to have translated it, "comely". This was a name "of good omen."

This restaurant is situated in the centre of Piacenza, at the edge of the historic quarter and just off Piazza Cavalli. Its just inside an arcade, so might be missed at first. It offers a range of eating options - from pizza (including takeaway) to full three course meals. It has a good wine list, and the food is very good. It is also open on a Monday evening which some restaurants in Piacenza are not. Service is good from friendly staff.

A new place. Location might be considered a little odd. But the food is excellent and the people running the place are always kind and quick. The specialty of the house is the Pinsa: highly recommended. Booking is adviced: the place is always full! Close to main roads and easy access.

I went with locals on a busy Saturday night. The pizzeria is tidy and well laid out and clean. Staff efficient and service fast enough. Pizza of the house is super thin with dough prepared days before to maximise its digestibility. Peculiar but tasty recipes. On the pricey side

On our way to Milan from Bologna for business, husband & wife, stop in Piacenza for night. Look for Trip Advisor for what is good, translate some reviews, settle on Regina Margherita for a pizzas. Walk about 15 minutes from Best Western Hotel, nice safe community, typical Italian. Arrived, owner has Menu in English for us, place is very busy, but takes time for us. Possibly the best pizza I have had in Italy, 15 years experience traveling often for business. Why? Simple honest ingredients, quality in each. The crust, the way we like (everyone has their favorite I know) for us it is thin, crispy, but with flavor. Wood fired oven, that turns, another Italian marvel to the word to enjoy, and gives perfect pizza. Just a little burn on bottom, not too much crust on side, nor too little.Everyone friendly, local, no worry about pretend ambiance, just good people and fantastic pizza...people pretty fantastic too. Thank you for such a nice visit, it was our wedding anniversary, and nothing better than a good pizza with friendly people in a simple place to enjoy it all.

Nel centro storico di Piacenza, Tosello si contraddistingue per la sua pizza particolarmente croccante.. antica ricetta mantenuta fino ad oggi dal 1949.
Just like people say, the pizza here is very good. My wife and I loved it. The only odd thing is the wine glasses are things that look like finger bowls. The server said that is local tradition. As it turned out the wine vessel was not important as the local house wine was delicious.

We enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. The restaurant is located on the main road leaving the city. Youâll need a car to get here. Thereâs plenty of street parking in front. The restaurant was already crowded with Italians when we arrived just past noon. We didnât notice any other tourists except for us. Service was excellent from an English-speaking server. We ordered spaghetti vongole which was very tasty. It came al dente as expected. Our other dish was homemade pasta stuffed with spinach and ricotta in a pomodoro sauce. It too was excellent. The bread was chewy and the red house wine was very good. It's a modern restaurant with an upscale feel to it but the prices are very reasonable. After eating here, we're not surprised it was so busy. We can highly recommend eating here.

There's limited seating but this is a great find. It's always great when you can find a place that's frequented by locals. We could tell this was a local favorite. The menu options for pizza were extensive. The wood burning pizza oven was really neat with an automatic turntable inside that you could see working. The pizza was probably the best we had in italy. Just amazing.
