Oscoda is an unincorporated community in the U.S. state of Michigan located on the northern side of the Au Sable River where it enters Lake Huron. The community of Au Sable is on the other side of the river. Oscoda is in Oscoda Township in Iosco County, and not in Oscoda County, which is to the northwest. The 1990 census population was 1,061, although 3,000 personnel were stationed at nearby Wurtsmith Air Force Base. Oscoda is a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes. As of the 2000 census (several years after the closure of the air force base), the population was 992, and in 2010 the population was 903. The post office at Oscoda first opened with the name AuSable on September 23, 1856. The name changed to Oscoda on July 1, 1875.

Ordered on-line and was told the order would be ready for pickup in twenty minutes...when I arrived 25 minutes later I was told my order was just coming out of the oven...twenty minutes later I was told it should be just another minute or two...twenty minutes later I was told it would be another twenty minutes before my order would be ready. At that point I explained that I no longer believed the twenty minute story. They offered to refund my credit card which even with over an hour and a half of time invested seemed like my best option. Unfortunately they couldn't figure out how to credit the money back to my credit card and then offered cash back instead. Horrible experience and no remorse on the part of G's. Went to Little Ceasar's and picked up hot and ready (5 minutes in and out) only to find my grandchildren asleep by the time I got back to our hotel room. Not so much as an apology from the staff at G's.

Tucked inside a gas station next to Kmart is the best little restaurant in town. Awesome buffets, great Pizza, don't forget to order the Pepperjack soup! Staci always makes us feel at home whenever we're in town. A can't miss when we're up north. Go for breakfast in the morning when the bread is baking...best smell ever!

Stopped in and ordered a deep dish pizza. We actually were at the Tawas City location but it is not listed on Tripadvisor. In any event, a male employee working the evening shift heard me enter and came from the back to greet me in seconds! That kind of service is indeed very rare these days. He also repeated my order to make sure it was accurate. After paying, I was pleasantly surprised again when he told me that my pizza would be ready in just 12 minutes....but it was actually ready and made to perfection in 10 minutes! Oh yeah...the pizza was great!

Called ahead and ordered over the phone. We are on vacation and have not been here in months, yet they still had our phone number on file. What I LOVE about this location is that they tell you what the specials are before you ask! Many times I have forgotten to ask and would have paid full price had the staff not mentioned the specials. They always ask if we need plates and napkins also. Nothing worse than getting to a picnic table and not having a napkin.Pizza and Howie Bread is always hot and fresh. Tastes the same here as in Flint, Washington DC, Baltimore, etc. I can ALWAYS count on a great pizza.
