I had an appointment at the Social Security office in Neptune, so I decided to go to here for lunch. It was crowded, so I sat at the bar, which entitled me to order a bar pie (which I had with mushrooms). If you like thin crust pizza (to my mind, the best kind), you'll love it here.

We are currently in New Jersey completing work for a couple of clients, and we are going to be out here for awhile. Being from Chicago, we absolutely love Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and Chicago Hot Dogs. So being in New Jersey has been quite a challenge for us. There is a Pizza & Sub Restaurant on every corner in New Jersey, and most of them are in strip malls. We quickly realized only 1 out of 10 Pizza & Sub places are very good in New Jersey, and this is the 1. Simply put, this restaurant is fantastic. Everything here is homemade and fresh. The bread they serve with the entrees and use for the sub sandwiches is outstanding. We have been here several times now, and we have had everything from their Pizza, Chicken Parmigiana, Sub Sandwiches, and Meat Lasagna. All very good. The chicken is hand breaded in-house.The restaurant is small but comfortable. The service has been outstanding every time we have been here, and the employees are very friendly. And last, but not least, the prices are excellent. We have never spent more than $20 for the both of us at lunch ($10/person), and this includes the tip.
Decent pizza. I wouldn't say its the best, but its pretty good. They have a fairly large dining room so it's a good place for group events.

Love these guys-- real Italian owner/chef! Sometimes sit down with wait service, more often take out that delicious pie, when in the mood for a cheesier medium crust pizza.

Casual, Italian bistro serving lunch and dinner. Weekly specials. BYOB. Private parties, TakeOut, Weekday delivery
I phoned on a Friday to inform that a business group of about 15 people wanted lunch delivered very close by on a Saturday. The girl answering the phone told me she wasnât sure they would be able to accommodate. Really?? Your restaurant is located in an industrial park thatâs pretty darn deserted on a Saturday, and you donât want an order for 15 people to be delivered to the other end of Industrial Way? Eventually, the girl who answered the phone plugged in her brain and told me what time the manager (or owner) would be available by phone. The pizzas were decent. The salad was very nice.Sorry about the confusion/information regarding a Saturday delivery. We open at 4 pm on Saturdays which is why the server whom you spoke with in the phone said she didnât think it would be possible.

We ate in the bar area...there is also a separate dining room in a banquet next to the large bar area...tried a couple of different items and service was good, wait for food was not long and it was okay...nothing to write home about, just about what you'd expect at a sports bar.Don't think you'd be dissappointed if you're looking for a casual meal, but don't expect you'll be raving to your friends about how they have to go there.I'd go back again, but would also rather try someplace new if I was in the area.

The service was fine. Our iceberg lettuce side salads were pretty much what I've grown to expect in neighborhood Italian restaurants in the Garden State. We ordered a couple of pasta dishes, and I don't know what happened, but neither of them had any flavor. The portions were huge and could have been shared. But why? We laughed it off though. It's pretty much what we've come to expect here.

Pizza and more
I am a life long patron of this establishment who has been eating here at Nunzio's for 60 years and I visit it whenever I can. Recently I sat down with an old friend who really knows his food and we ordered a large plain pie. When it came, brought to us gleefully by Snookie (the original), we were mesmerized. Louie, her brother, crafted us a masterpiece of tomato pie goodness. The crispiness of the crust, the flavor of the sauce and the fact that your pie (your TOMATO pie) is not covered in cheese is what separates Nunzio's from any other pizzeria in the world. You are eating something incredibly delicious, unique and really genuine. I highly recommend Nunzio's for another reason: when you eat there you are treated like family. The food is served piping hot and does not leave the kitchen unless its right. I love the Chiafullo family, Snookie and Lou, who are two of the best people who serve some of the best food you will find. And remember to check out their other menu items prepared by Chef Fabio who can really whip up some incredible dishes you would not expect in a small, neighborhood place. Enjoy!

Homey atmosphere and good food at this family-friendly restaurant. Pizza was delicious but be aware that it is bar pie size -- get at least two if you are with a few people. Good music and decent service. Try to get a seat outside if weather permits; less noisy and more comfortable.

Great experience and the best pizza around. I visited this place many times and had never been disappointed. Different pizzas, one better then the other one but they all outstanding. Also, try their toasts and salads with bread because their bread is simply delicious. Too bad they don't sell bread to go. Strongly recommend and I will be back once in the area.
