We were driving the Santa Clause Indiana and passed through Mt Vernon - I researched it and we were excited to eat at Godfathers Pizza in Mt. Vernon. I called them to confirm they were open for lunch (they were) unlike the other one in Ohio that was closed for lunch!We drove about 20 minutes out of our way to find a HUCKS gas station. WHAT? We went inside and found a corner where they had hot food including little personal pizza's that said Godfathers on them.I'm sorry - this isn't Godfather pizza. Stop advertising it that way - stop listing it anyplace (including trip advisor)... so frustrating!

This location seems pretty old and it is run down. It's not in the best area either. It's easy to access but the parking lot is small and full of trash. Lots of odd characters pacing around outside the door. All we ordered was one pizza and it seemed to take too long. It definitely wasn't hot-n-ready. We had to wait about 15 minutes. The woman at the counter was not friendly at all, she was a little rude. There were other customer's inside waiting as well. It seemed clean inside. Once we got our pizza we took it back to the hotel and it was still hot. I was a little surprised by that. It tasted pretty good but there wasn't much cheese on it.

$5.99 lunch specials that can't be beat. Veggie and meat choices along with gluten free pizzas. Sandwiches, salads and chicken wings. Friendly staff, Lacey, took our order and was knowledgeable about the order. Delivery in less than 45 minutes and everything was hot and fresh.

Upon our first evening in Mt. Vernon we ordered pizza from Pizza man. From the moment I called I started having doubts about ordering. Person on the phone had terrible customer service skills. I asked what the prices would be for two medium pizza's but by the time I ended my conversation my price literally doubled. Waited an hour for our pizza to arrive so when I tried calling to see where our pizza was, they had closed. Then about 10 min later our pizza arrived at our hotel door, cold and very stale and hard. Will never order from this pizza place again. It was terrible.

The pizza was average or slightly less. However, the service was great. The pizza was at our door quickly and still nice and hot. Delivery guy was very courteous and professional. Would probably try again just in case the first pizza was a fluke.Ordered the cinnamon twists. Not good - overbaked. Would not order again.

We were just passing through and got the family pizza special to go. It was so good. It has nice slightly sweet sauce. The kids all said they wished we had this in Huntington, WV. It was delicious. The people there were very nice. They even made a couple changes for us since we were eating in the car. If we are ever by Mt. Vernon again we will definitely make a point to spot by.
