From the front of the restaurant you can't imagine how beautiful the dining area is. The menu offered many choices. The restaurant is known for its fresh food and pizzas but there are other options available. The house wine was quite good. The staff speaks little English and the menu is in Italian so bring a translation tool if you don't speak the language.

If you like thin crispy fresh pizzas in a restaurant full of Italians then this is where you need to come. Very popular and price wise very reasonable. Service is attentive and all in all you can expect a good experience. Will definitely return.

What you see is exactly what you get. A wide choice of delicious and not very expensive pizzas served in a cheerful space with a childrens play area at one end. This can generate quite a lot of noise ( our own grandchildren contributed some) but its a very warm and pleasant atmosphere. Service is swift and very friendly.

There is a new restaurant in Montone called Le Fonti di Venere which adds to the choice of excellent dining establishments already available in this wonderful hilltop Umbrian town. It opened about nine months ago and is located just outside the walls of the town. Don't be put off by the rather unprepossessing shop front, i.e. it looks like a cheap fast food joint - the sign outside offering "pizza and chips" really doesn't help its image. However, once you go inside there is a very nice dining room and even a small outdoor dining area should you wish to go al fresco.The restaurant specialises in meat and fish dishes and offers a number of fixed menu or "menu fisso" options for â¬30/â¬35 per head. Alternatively, you can also go down the al a carte route where there is a wide range of antipasti, primi, secondi, etc. dishes available. All the dishes are very reasonably priced, certainly far cheaper than those available in the restaurants located inside the walls of the town. Furthermore, the quality is as good if not better than that available inside the walls. In fact, Le Fonti di Venere would certainly give at least two of these restaurants a run for their money in terms of quality and definitely in terms of price. The restaurant would appear to be very popular with local families (we went on a Friday evening) which is always a good sign and has the feel of a real local trattoria about it. We had a very good meal comprising an antipasto, a main course and a dessert which came to â¬65 (for two) and also included a good bottle of wine. We can strongly recommend the Cinghiale in Salmi (or wild boar stew) which was absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly and welcomed us with a complimentary glass of prosecco when we arrived. Overall, Le Fonti di Venere is a very welcome addition to dining out in Montone and we would certainly recommend a visit, you won't be disappointed by the quality and definitely not by the price.

This ristorante is on the very edge of Montone, adjacent to the Hotel Fortebraccio. We dined there twice with our group of 10 American students. As usual, we booked ahead of time for the chef's choice. The first time we were treated to pizza pizza and more pizza! Wine and pizza. Was amused that Italians like pizza with hot dogs on them, but was gratified that they served us every kind and style of pizza known to man. Friendly waitstaff. We were served on the enclosed patio. The first time we dined there it was cold and rainy, and there was a fire in the fireplace on the patio. Don't miss the fantastic mural in the lobby. It's hand painted, and excited my students and I more than some of the Renaissance work we saw during the month.

Enjoyed a delightful lunch in this charming restaurant with breath taking view. Started with a delicious mixed appetizer platter and cheese with fresh tomatoes drizzled with olive oil and fresh pepper. Finished with a mouth watering hazelnut semi-fredo. Service was good. Enjoyed the outdoor patio seating. Would definitely recommend and return.
