My husband and I dined at Mimmo's on a recent weekend visit to Laurel. We were impressed by its attractive location in downtown Laurel, and appreciated the care the owners have taken in remodeling the old building, exposing its original brickwork and high ceilings. We did find the main dining area rather cavernous and felt it could use some visual cozying up like large potted plants, screens, or dropped ceiling beams. We were promptly greeted and shown to our table by the owner's father in law who was quite friendly and knowledgeable. However, our server was brand new and unable to describe the wine list or menu favorites to us. This would have been especially helpful since we were visiting from of town and were first time diners. She did recommend the garlic knots which turned out to be delicious, and we ended up pleased with our entrees of veal and white pizza. All in all, I would recommend Mimmo's for an enjoyable, casual Italian meal any time you find yourself in Laurel, Mississippi.

I parked in the lot behind Mimmo's and we entered via the rear door. I thought I was going into a "dive". We were greeted by two "greeters" and then in front of us was a gentleman who may have been the Manager. The dining room was HUGE and the ceiling was probably over 30 feet. Very impressive. Our server Amber, was superb. She was very attentive and insured we were completely satisfied with our experience at Mimmo's.I was not surprised when the manager came to our table and said that he wanted to make sure we well taken care of and enjoyed our meals. My wife had a Mediterranean salad with grilled shrimp and I had Eggplant Parmesan, made with fresh eggplant.

Great food, friendly atmosphere. The owner, I believe, went around asking how everything was and stated that if something wasn't right, let him know and he will make it right faster than it came out. Great customer service!!!

First, not allowed to pickup order inside, had to go through a drive thru? Iâve never heard of a drive thru at Dominosâs before. Very small drive thru, inconvenient, not comfortable having to learn out window far from window to get our order as the window was high up and thereâs a curb preventing someone from getting close empty ugh. Had to unbuckle our seatbelt just and open door just to get our order. Iâd understand the lobby being closed if it were late however; it was only 8:00 pm. Also, they screwed up our order. Gave us 2 cheese pizzas when we ordered one cheese and one mushroom. Didnât give us the ranch we paid for, etc. Figured this is the reason they donât want people picking up inside. Then they canât check their order to make sure itâs correct. Terrible service. Took about 5 minutes for them to even ring up and get us our soda. Horrible.
