2nd visit to this rejuvanated pub only called in because we had such a terrible afternoon tea just across the road at the donington manor hotel which I would not recommend. The castle pub is very vibrant and has a good mix of clientele nice selection of beers the food we four had was excellent no complaints from anyone.The young staff are very polite and very hardworking we still didn't see the much admired roof terrace as we were enjoying ourselves in the bar maybe on our 3rd visit we will check it out.I would highly recommended a visit to this lovely pub I just wish I lived nearer.Top Mark's to all the Staff you are very good at what you do.please don't change

Visited peter in Loughborough one weeknight evening with a couple of work colleagues.Hadnât been for years as I didnât enjoy my first visit and hadnât been back. However my colleague said it was good and suggested it so I went.I still find the decor a bit confused as I did back the first time but I think it must be me as everyone else seems to like it. Main thing - pizza was good and tasty. Crisp base and great flavour although a few more toppings wouldnât have gone amiss. Definitely not the soggy affair from my first visit. So all in all - good experience and I wonât leave it so long before returning!!Hi WillowBee77Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We stopped here after taking our daughter to the sutton bonnington campus of nottingham university. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the chicken, gammon and spinach pie and burger for our son and they tasted wonderful. The pie was lovely and the mixed veg was cooked perfectly. After a tearful goodbye at the campus it made us feel better. We will definitely be going back on one of our many visits.

Went for the first time for our wedding anniversary on August 8th. Was very impressed by the menu and ambience of the restaurant part of the pub. Sometimes, pubs try to do restaurant style food with matching prices, but the chef here can really pull it out of the bag. There were no disappointments! We had the goat's cheese & beetroot and tempura king prawns starters followed by the lamp rump & monkfish curry for mains. We shared a pineapple and banana pud. Every mouthful was utterly delicious, especially the monkfish. Service was excellent too: nothing was too much trouble.My parents went after I raved about it and they agreed with me! We are off for a return visit on Saturday with some friends. Ensure that you book as it does get busy.

How refreshing to be greeted and served by real Italians in an Italian restaurant. Very good value and great flexibility of mixing pasta and sauce (i.e. you can pick and mix!). Food arrived promptly and was delicious. We all enjoyed our lunches and the lively and friendly service. Very contemporary and bright deco so possibly not best for a very quiet/ intimate dinner for two, but if you want a great Italian then look no further.
