If you can manage to get thru the incredibly horrible roads to the Edge your meal will will be worth it. Wonderfull setting, service and food with a labyrinth garden to walk thru and hiking trails. From our four days in town this was the fanciest place we found. Worth the trip.

On the recommendation our local hostess we decided to try the Lighthouse Restaurant in Hogsback after a hike through the forest. Without a doubt the best burger I have ever tasted... forget craft, gourmet, or artisan, this was quite simply the best tasting, perfectly sized, honest, no fancy frills burger that I have ever had. The kids loved the pizzas too. If you are in Hogsback do yourself a favour and stop past, you wonât regret it.

We were attracted to this pub restaurant on a chilly autumn afternoon in Hogsback, enticing us with its offer of hot gluwein.Its very own labyrinth leads one into its newly-named Rustic restaurant; a cozy family lounge area fully-equipped with fireplace, floor-to-ceiling library of books, and chess board; as well as an intimate pub with a TV broadcasting live sport.We returned later in the evening for our Easter dinner. Despite being the only occupied table at the time, we nonetheless enjoyed the cozy, intimate ambience created by the crackling fireplace and choice of good red wine.The kids were graciously entertained with coloring-in books and a huge container of thick wax crayons, prior to the arrival of our Italian-inspired meal.Hearty wholesome portions of comfort cuisine were pleasantly presented, and thoroughly enjoyed by all.The thin-crusted basic Margherita pizza with a vast choice of deli-cious additions, was a winning combination with the spaghetti bolognaise I ordered for my kids.My melanzane romagne was a melt-in-the-mouth moment, heightened in taste with freshly-chopped chilli in oil, on the side. The gamberetti prawns were of good size, and taste.All in all, a hearty homely experience for the whole family!
