Great pizza , excellent service ..the cool drinks are heavily overpriced so I buy at the garage , from what I understand Franchise law and soooo wish for 1 liter instead of 2liters as the latter lose their gas in 20 min even when closed after opening

After hearing wonderful reviews we booked a table for dinner last evening ! On arrival the restaurant was closed!!! They had a contact number for us but there was no notification! What can I say.....Dear Willem, my sincerest apologies for neglecting to contact you. My son unfortunately passed away suddenly and I have been away to to deal with the arrangements of his service. My boyfriend and I visit here regularly, heâs local to Hermanus and Iâm from England. We recently visited to watch the rugby and have our favourite small dish, seafood chowder. The first time we had it, it was just wonderful, hence coming back more! However, just before Christmas we visited for the soup and found a fairly large piece of plastic in the soup. Nothing was really done about it and still when paying the young bar man asked what he should make the bill for. We were definitely not leaving a tip after nothing really being done about the incident. Then on the 15th February we visited again, craving the chowder. We joked and said hopefully no plastic this time! Well low and behold my boyfriend had plastic again in his soup! This clearly is a problem and the head chef really needs to have a word with his co workers. To get a piece of plastic for a second time, something is not right there! Please resolve this situation immediately, because who knows it could happen again.

Enjoyed great meal in friendly & welcoming surroundings. Discovered this place on way back from beach. Juicy, melting steaks & flavoursome oven baked fish + kids menu - highly recommend this place. Only wish it was closer to home (weâre visiting from Melbourne!) Thank you very much !!

We needed something good and simple and found Embers on TripAdvisor and how glad were we? It was within easy walking distance of our hotel and although it was busy they managed to fit us in on the balcony.We enjoyed the thinnest, crispiest pizza ever and a yummy bolognaise washed down with a couple of glasses of delicious. Lovely view, friendly waitron but my salad was not too inspiring. I chose the special salmon salad from the blackboard. At R 95 I thought it could have been a little more. My husbands peri peri livers were very good and quite substantial.

This is a review of many visits to this wonderful restaurant. Only negative thing is the message service for reservations, although it has never failed us. One just feels insecure with an answerphone. We have been here for dinner quite a few times and often for Sunday lunch and the generous plate of food is worth the drive.

We chose to eat here twice in 4 days of our stay in Hermanus it was soooooo good. Fresh Pizzas cooked a proper Pizza oven great service - very generous sized portions of pasta etc and the desserts were awesome including a homemade chocolate lava pudding delicious and as all now hard to perfect... plus a cracking Tiramisu that would feed 3 easy!? When we were there the cricket was on TV so all the family were very happy and fed for a very reasonable price too! Advice is to definitely book as by 7pm they're full 7 days a week its so good the locals fill it themselves...Thankyou for our dinners shame you're so far from the UK!?Thank you very much for your kind review, we're glad you enjoyed your visits. Hopefully not too long until you're in Hermanus again.
