Finally a viable alternative to UrChoice. Nothing erong with UrChoice at all. Quite the contrary: still by far the best restaurant in Dipolog. Nonetheless, there is only so much heavy Italian food anyone should eat. I went to Melting Pot on the recommendation of an English friend. Right off, within five minutes, it had two strikes against it: overly cutesy, off the rack decor and an immense menu. So far, however, all is well, better than well. Two different kinds of sausage plate, quesadillas, two sallads, baby ribs, and a roasted chicken wrap, all at or above expectations. I'm sure there will be failures sometime in the future. But even if/when they happen, we'll go back. Again and again.

got there at 7pm and they had run out of pizza, (2nd of jan u get that) washed my hands in toilets and it was very grotty and felt like cancelling my order based on these observations.. place need a good clean by the looks of it. the pasta cabonara was ok for 90 pesos but was like an entree size. If its a franchise they need to inspect it ..

Dipolog does not lack for pizza places (what city does?), but now it has a new king: Star Pizza Haus. This small restaurant on the National Highway across from ZaNorte Provincial Hospital) is owned by a Filipina, Aracelli, with extensive experience abroad, and her American husband, Ted. Ted is a baker by education, training and profession - and his professionalism clearly shows in the quality of his pizzas. Wow! The service is great: Aracelli and Ted are very personable and a pleasure to talk with, Ted also bakes scrumptious breads and rolls. Give Star a try. You will be glad you did.p.s. Ted and Aracelli can also cook pizza and breads for special occasions, although Star is not a place to hold one: not enough room.
