Friday night dinner at Mod Pizza was super busy, but there was plenty of staff. They prepared the pizzas and salads quickly amd the wait to order was only about 15 minutes even though the line was almost to the door. The pizzas were hot and the salad greens were fresh and crisp. Everything was tasty. My one complaint is the menu. I asked for a "small" pizza each for myself and my niece, and when I got to the cashier, the price was higher than I expected based on what I paid on a previous visit because this time they gave me a bigger pizza. Like Starbucks, Mod pizza has their own sizing terminology. Instead of small, medium, and large, they use: mini, mod, and mega. They advertise that "mod" is the most common size, but that would appear to be the case because they automatically give you a "mod" unless you say their code word. For me, mini is plenty to eat, and a better value. Lesson learned.

We visited for lunch and everyone really enjoyed the food: tasty, with generous portions. All of the pasta dishes come with a basket of garlic knots, and they brought us extra knots as needs. The salads had a nice selection of fresh greens and veggies. Our visit started a bit rocky when the tables had not been prepared for us, even though we called ahead. We are resourceful and sorted out our own tables, and everything was smooth from there. Our server was attentive, and we didn't have to wait too long for food.

YAYAYAYAAY! It's about time delicious ITALIAN food can be had in Dawsonville, GA! I had the Eggplant Parm with lots of melty Mozzarella overflowing the casserole dish, accompanied by Garlic Knots (substituted for Garlic Bread & salad for an up-charge), The sauce is extra tasty too! it was really wonderful - looked forward to having the other 1/2 for lunch today & it was so, sooooo good even the 2nd day! Hubby liked his Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich with red & green bell pepper & Mozz cheese (he hates provolone!) with plain fries, and he's very picky! Service was wonderful via Justine - who was most cheerful, aiming to please, a real pleasure! She made sure our orders were right on! Plus she lowered the 'music' so we could hope to have a conversation over our delicious dinner! Glad we overlooked some uneven past reviews, Can't wait to return! It's right next to the new Publix, opening very soon.

If you're looking for a great place to grab a hot and ready pizza, take it back to your place and wolf it down, these are the guys. I've used them for friends from church coming over to the house, bought pizza for a training event or two, bought pizza for a search and rescue exercise for the Civil Air Patrol-- the pizza's always hot and fresh, and you can't beat the "in and out."
