A big family group of us descended upon this quaint restaurant. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed the recommended local - strong ale. We were disappointed with the pizzas which were very basic and laced flavour. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere and we ate upstairs out side to cool off. Pleasant evening made so mainly by the company rather then the food.Thank you for your review. We always try to make nice the atmosphere for our customers and our Pizza Chef, Simone, is always studying to make the best pizza you can eat. ;)

They do pasta, pizza, panini, burgers, steaks, cocktails, beers, salads, chips; you name it. Mostly, they do pleasing people on a budget and on a grand scale. This is certainly the busiest restaurant in Galatina, and one of the largest, and one of the cheapest. The house wine is 5.50 Euros a bottle; the average pizza is around 6 Euros, the burgers between 4 and 10, the latter for a wagyu beef number. The ambience is youthful and dynamic, the service presto vivace. This is where Galatina's youngsters, families and economy-minded visitors come to dine and, beyond that, to party and to enjoy themselves and each other. The food's not that great, but certainly o.k. the atmosphere is vibrant. It's a great catch-all concept and it offers super value for money. If it's not already a chain or a national franchise, it will be soon.

Tastefully modernised old building, very elegant and classy inside but not intimidatingly so. Cold glass of Prosecco on arrival and menus in English, half the menu is formal dining and half the menu is pizzas. The chef, Mario Graziano Manconi is passionate about provenance of ingredients, and the menu is full of regional products, sausages from a particular village, artisanal cheeses, handmade pastas, ancient grains. The menu showcases all the best food this region has to offer, cooked in exciting and interesting ways. We loved this restaurant so much we ate here twice over a weekend, and drove all the way from Lecce just to eat here the second time, itâs that good and fantastic value, a very reasonably priced lobster dish actually had half a lobster in it. Our favourite dishes were the pasta dishes, unusual pastas we had never heard of before like Paccheri and Busiate with intense sauces bursting with flavours like smoked aubergine and cave aged cheese (not together!). Some words got lost in translation on the English menu, so it is best to try to translate the Italian menu if you can rather than wholly trust the English menu, for instance ginger on the English menu actually turned out to be fennel. Also it would be helpful if the menu stated if the dish takes a long time to prepare, I chose a sea bass dish which was baked in a salt crust which takes at least 20 mins, had this been stated on the menu I would have ordered it ahead instead of having a long wait. The desserts are divine here too, a semifreddo sphere that melted when bitter hot coffee was poured over it was exquisite. Well chosen wine list also. We will make a beeline to eat here whenever we are in this region, Mario Graziano Manconi loves his job, loves showing off the amazing food on his doorstep and best of all loves sharing his passion with others.Thank you very much for your comments. We are very happy that our typical dishes, reinterpreted in a creative key, are to the taste of guests visiting our town. See you soon!

This place is always buzzy with a great friendly atmosphere. They offer a good range of cocktails as well as beers at extremely good prices. their food although basic is good and tasty, ranging from Pizzas, salads and pasta dishes and again at very good prices. they have live music several nights a week which is just great. I am in my fifties and although this is mainly a younger persons place i still really enjoy all that they have to offer.

For days we had been trying to find somewhere open for lunch in an area with very very few options - and then we found this on the last day. Went in and excitedly asked for pizzas, but unfortunately they only seem to do them at night. Disappointedly ordered two types of pasta between our party of five: the swordfish one was absolutely brilliant, but the ricotta based one was too highly flavoured for our British taste - and the owner very kindly swapped them out for a simple spaghetti tomato sauce that was really good.Clearly a totally authentic local friendly decently priced restaurant and the pizzas are probably superb, given the size of the place and also what we were told by an enthusiastic local. Wish we had found it sooner!
Fab pizza and good service..ate outside front of pizzaria and got all left overs boxed up to take away! Superb value for money!!

While staying in Sogliano Cavour we had 2 meals at La Locanda di Buck which is in the centre of the old town. Our first meal was eaten on the small terrace outside the restaurant. We had a pasta and a meat dish both of which were good, plus some house wine which was inexpensive and of good quality. While we ate, there was a steady stream of locals buying mainly takeaway food (pizza and pasta). Our second meal was a takeaway pizza. Sadly, this was not great pizza as the base was not crisp and was generally undercooked. The quattro stagioni toppings were nice. After this experience we chose to eat in the nearby town of Corigliano d'Otranto.
