Authentic Italian Food !!!
Cheap and cheerful earlybird tea on a Saturday, great value meal and friendly, efficient service.Wife and I had potato skins to start, pizza/pasta main, and daughter had the kids meal of half a pizza, chips and then ice cream to follow. With drinks, total bill was £21. Can't complain, and the waitress was great with our little one. Defo come back.

Our restaurant is a warm, cosy family restaurant using locally sourced top quality ingredients to provide our customers with outstanding food at a superb price
Fab food, and very reasonably priced (we had the early evening special). Service was great from the young ladies (Chloe? And a young blonde girl), and the manager David was very attentive, polite and professional. Would definitely recommend!

Ordered through Just Eat for delivery ASAP and heard nothing for over an hour, eventually phoned to find out what was happening and was told that our order was "leaving the shop now". Almost half an hour later it eventually turned up. So all in all it was over an hour and a half from order to delivery.Food is average at best so we'll probably go back to using one of the half a dozen competitors.
Very good pizza shop and reasonable prices.Probably the best pizza shop in Consett at the moment, I'd go as far as to say the cheeseburgers are the nicest I've ever had from a pizza shop!

Made our second visit to Ravello, based on the food and service, both of which were excellent first time around.Ravello didn't disappoint !Starters and main courses were superb, a very pleasant bottle of Prosecco and my wife loved her dessert ( I settled for an espresso ).Ravello is very good value and the whole ambiance etc makes it a great place to enjoy a leisurely meal in nice surroundings.Definitely our favourite Italian restaurant!

Bar 1898 is a fabulous cocktail and grill bar, we currently serve a lunch menu an evening, grill menu and a traditional Sunday lunch.
This is my third review of this establishment. Since then business has been shut down, re-opened under new management and is now serving food again. My Wife and I go here on a regular basis. We find the atmosphere convivial and friendly. People of all ages go in here. The bar is at the other end of town away from the plastic glasses and cheap shots. You are more likely to see a group of ladies in for a bottle of wine and a natter. The music is choice and not in your face. You can have a chat with person next to you without screaming your head off. Cocktails range from about £5.50 and are fresh made. In Newcastle or Durham this is at least £8 for a basic one. If you wish you can go off menu. The staff have Difford's guide to cocktails behind the bar (3000 recipes). If they have the ingredients then they will make it for you. Food is standard fare but well cooked, freshly prepared and at the right price. The menu currently mainly consists of pizzas and burgers. There is plenty to eat. I couldn't move after mine. The Manager is planning to expand on the menu but is ensuring that it is the correct way unlike previous exponents of this premises. We haven't been for Sunday lunch yet but will get ourselves out of bed one day and go up. The reports that I have had as that it is very good and you can't eat it all. In Consett you get fed when you go out or you don't go back. If you want a raviolo on a bit of slate, go to Newcastle and pay £25. This is real food. The building itself is the old C-op bank. The safe is still there because they can't get it out. It's too big and heavy. The decor is modern retro, all bits and bobs but it fits together. The staff are very keen and always ready to have a go. My Wife and I hope that this business will continue to build on a now more solid foundation. Happy 1st birthday, roll on No.2.Thanks for you're wonderfully detailed review. Glad you enjoyed the mini "tour" of the original vault and safe, which we hope to use in the future for theme evenings and sampling sessions, also look out for our tasting "flights" that we are introducing soon.We look forward to welcoming you to our bar again very soon.Richard

Parking for this restaurant is on the Main Street outside the building, didnât use the toilets in the building so cannot comment on them.I had prebooked table for 6.30pm got there a few minutes late as couldnât find restaurant, went in and given table next to window, place was very busy and tables were a bit cramped together, menu I felt was a bit limited, food was okay and could have been hotter but tasty enough, staff were smart, polite, and attentive. Would I go back possibly but not on a Friday night.Thank you for taking the time out to write a review and thank you for choosing us for such a lovely and important occasion. I am glad that you had a nice time overall. Sorry to hear about a little issues you had. Regarding to the menu I feel you may not have seen the full menu. We have a selection on the main menu as well as in the book given to each table where you can find the chefâs specials. We would love to see you again and make sure you have the perfect experience with us.

We love this restaurant and have been many times over the last 12 or so years. We went without the kids tonight. I donât know why Iâve never reviewed this place before. Food was as great as ever, the same lovely staff as always, great atmosphere with a buzz and the tiramisu.....omg.....itâs gorgeous. Iâm a foodie and know about these things. My husband had Irish coffees while I ate the dessert of dreams. We couldnât believe how cheap the bill was for the amount that we drank and ate. We will return.

Hadnât been here before so was looking forward to the visit with the family my starter which were prawns were an absolute taste sensation however when it came to my main course it was extremely disappointing. I really should learn my lesson when it comes to Steak because unless you are in a Steak House rarely (no pun intended) is the steak any good and so it proved here. Ordered rare, it was on the wrong side of medium, I can accept that as long as the flavour is still good but this was bland and tasted like one of those frozen jobs a chain pub would serve. Such a shame the setting is fab the staff are fab but if you choose to eat here never order a Steak it was rankThank you so much for your constructive criticism.May I ask which might you dined with us? Just the staff are unaware of any recent complaints regarding the steaks. Our steaks are all locally sourced British cuts and are fresh not frozen. If you had mentioned to your server on the night we would have happily replaced your steak or offered you a different cut.We are glad you enjoyed your prawns and that the staff were good, hopefully we will see you again soon.Regards,Micheal Dos Santos & Anton Mydlo
