The name is a reference to one of the clans of the historic Illini confederacy, who were encountered by early French explorers to the region. The village was founded as a French Canadian mission in 1696.

We enjoyed the restaurant, it is quiet and quaint. Parking is a challenge. Although they have a lot that they share with the bar next door, spots are very limited. We arrived at 3:30 P.M. and got the only remaining space, street parking in Dutchtown is scarce on Sunday's.Sunday's only they have all you can eat chicken or fish for 12.99. I had the 1/2 chicken (spicy) and rather than heat, all I could taste was salt, salt and more salt. The chicken was cooked far too dark. My wife had a dish called Chicken Modega, for $13.99. It was very good but the protein was very small. Her sides were good. My sides included onion rings (c-) and an upcharged loaded baked potato that could have used either more time in the oven, or it was made yesterday..Not so special. What the food lacked the young lady who served us was very attentive and just a fine server. One of the best we have experienced in the past year.The bar is a seperate entrance, although they will serve beer etc.

Stopped in on a Sunday for lunch. Got lunch special $9.15? (slice of pizza, salad and a drink) pizza was good had pepperoni and buffalo chicken. Salad wasn't. Tomatoes weren't very good and salad had kind of a bitter taste. Service was quick and servers were friendly. Would get the pizza again but not the special.

Had high expectations due to great reviews here on TripAdvisor and itâs ranking as #18 in the city. Very confused by this rating as my experience did not measure up. Very warm outside AND Inside the restaurant on a busy Saturday evening. We were seated 25 minutes later than our reservation time (745pm) and comped a toasted ravioli. It was not so much about the lateness of being seated but the shortness and responses to questions about timing of being seated from the front of house staff that made this wait annoying. The caprese salad was good, dolmades and ravioli were ok, but the pasta with red sauce and sausage was unpleasant. I have never tasted a smokier red sauce. It almost tasted âburntâ. The sausage was also quite spicy and the pasta was nothing special- an inedible dish.The prices are quite good and itâs a family atmosphere, but I will not be returning.

Excellent Italian restaurant located "on the hill" in the well known Italian neighborhood. Excellent casual atmosphere. Took my mother there for Mother's Day. The homemade ravioli were large and excellent. My wife had the grilled salmon pasta. My mother had the meatball pasta. I had the Volpi sausage pasta. All were excellent. The staff was very attentive to all. Our waitress Jennifer was excellent. We will be going back for sure.

We love Imo's pizza, but only order it when there are only the two of us....they can't or won't compete with the other chain pizza places on specials for multiple pizzas which is a shame... They would get more business...good toasted raviolis and love the salads with Imo's own dressing.

Went there for mid afternoon lunch. The service was great to bad they did not have good food to serve. The turkey melt was eatable the Blue gill was crispy but tasteless. They were very accommodating for two to go sandwiches don't know how they were.

I was transported to Naples with my first bite of the Pomodorini and can't wait to go back to try other pizzas at Pizzeoli where they have a REAL Italian wood-fired pizza oven. WOW!!! St. Louisans - it's worth the drive to Soulard. There's ample street parking right in front of the restaurant. Absolutely worth the drive. We met the owner who is clearly passionate about his pizza and restaurant which shows. The salad was made of fresh quality greens - can't wait to return! The service was also attentive - great experience all around.

We love their pizzas. They have some exceptionally good combinations. The only disappointment is that they are skimpy on ingredients. At least 3"-4" of the pizza, around the edge is just crust--no cheese, let alone ingredients. Wish they would reconsider dressing the WHOLE pizza!

A large group of us came by unannounced for lunch before our conference started. They kindly set up a long row of tables and took our drink orders. I had the Pi which was delicious! We designed a variety of pizzas and they were great! Wish we had a Pi Pizzeria at home in Massachusetts. Definitely recommend!
