Things to do in Bastrop
Arrived late in Bastrop (8 pm) and didn't want to sit in a restaurant for dinner. Wanted to grab something and take to our hotel for a quick dinner. Little Caesers $5 pepperoni is always our go to in these situations. They did not disappoint. They had just brought out several fresh pizzas and they were ready to go. For $5 its a good deal and always consistent quality. The cashier (I believe the manager?) had a great upbeat attitude and was very personable. You don't see that much anymore in the fast food industry. Keep it up!

We stayed in a nearby hotel and ordered online. Was neat because there is a tracker gauge you can watch after you place order so you can see at what stage your order is at. We got our order fast and accurate. Love the chicken with cheese and bacon. And pizza was piping hot! They just forgot to bring us utensils, napkins etc (hotel ya know). Would order again for sure.

We stop by DoubleDave's often for our "pizza-fix"! They have a nice variety of menu items, including stromboli, salads and desserts. They offer a variety of beers as well. Their salad bar is small but has a decent selection of items considering the size. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. Be sure to leave them a tip in the tip pitcher and they will ring a bell and holler "yippee" or similar! Ha! It's a hoot! Enjoy!
This little place makes great wood fired pizza. They have a diverse menu, including classics and a few unusual items like BBQ pizza. They have an appetizer menu as well. Daily soup of the day and gumbo also, which is great because they are associated with Cedars Grill in Bastrop, who regular wins awards for soup. Diverse beer menu as well, happy hour Monday to Thursday. If you want pizza and are anywhere nearby, drop by or pick up an order.

We pick up a Pappa at least 3x month. Favorites: spicy fennel sausage with extra fennel, chicken mediterranean with garlic sauce (hubby likes to add pepp), vegetarian. Fresh veggies, not expensive, great service. TIP: Have someone at home pre-heat the oven to 425F so you'll have a great meal in 15 min.

This little restaurant has been around for over two years now. and has pretty much found its footing. At the beginning it was a bit amateurish, with way too much food (lots of accompaniments). Now the menu is simplified, service is good, and the food is excellent. The restaurant is quite small -- maybe eight tables -- but they seem to do a lot of takeout. We love any place that's quiet and not crowded. The small menu includes a daily pasta, build your own pizzas, and salads. No beer or wine license, but you can bring your own. The setting is fine looking, although the hard surfaces and magnify loud voices. We come here relatively frequently. Can be hard to find in the inside corner of a strip mall, but worth it.

Our waitress was psychic, I'd be ready to add or ask for something, look around, not see her anywhere, then she would just show up with what I was thinking about asking her, straw or napkin, to go box, we did actually speak to ask for certain food/drinks. We loved the serene decor, the prices were very fair for such a large amount of food. My son and I ate 3 different times off one entree and one appetizer. Had to get desserts to go. We will be returning to this place, originally just went because it was so close to our hotel.

Pizza kitchen, music venue, and event space nestled on the Colorado River in Bastrop, deep in the heart of Texas. Neighbor's Kitchen and Yard opened in August 2014 and is located on the banks of the Colorado River in Bastrop, Texas. Since then, the Neighb
Really enjoyed dinner here - gorgeous place, reminded me of having lunch at The Grist Mill in Gruene a few Texas trips ago â situated by the Colorado River with outside seating on staggered levels, which we didn't opt for as the local mosquito population just love my husband! I went for 2 'small plates' (finally!) - the black bean hummus & the Texas bruschetta, both absolutely delicious, & he had the Hippy Dippy sandwich, a concoction of artichokes, peppers, onions & spinach which he thoroughly enjoyed & demolished fairly rapidly, followed by chocolate mousse & ice cream, which I did give him some assistance with! They mention a 'scratch kitchen' on their menu, & everything does indeed look & taste home-made. The staff were just lovely, & the lady dealing with us took time to explain their philosophy, give us information about our chosen dishes & answer a few questions we had. Would definitely recommend this establishment & would eat here again if we're ever in the area.Wow Carolyn! Thank you for such a thoughtful and lovely review! We really appreciate guests like you - and the comparison to The Grist Mill is very flattering - we love it there. We hope you visit us again, if you are ever back in Bastrop. Thank you again.
