TO GET THE MOST AUTHENTIC ITALIAN FOOD, YOU NEED AUTHENTIC INGREDIENTS Mariaâs Italian Kitchens is one of those grand American success stories. Mariaâs Italian Kitchens often remind guests of the casual, sometimes boisterous, neighborhood eateries of anot
This restaurant is in Hastings Ranch area of East Pasadena on Foothill Boulevard, west of Rosemead, near the Ralph's Market. It is a nice find in a row of restaurants that have a variety of different cuisines. Maria's has both inside and outside seating, which is nice. We sat inside at a table and it is very comfortable with lots of space and comfortable chairs; there are also booths. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We ordered two chicken dishes: Chicken Michelangelo and Chicken Marsala. It comes with a salad. Both chicken dishes were very good and filling. We had leftovers to go. Prices were very reasonable. Very pleasant experience. We work hard to offer our guests the most delicious and authentic Italian dishes, and are very glad to hear that your Chicken Michelangelo and Chicken Marsala were such a hit! your support has brightened our day and we hope to have you back soon! Grazie, Maddy

Being from the East coast, I've searched forever for a good New York style pizza. I've tried them all in the LA and none ever quite delivered in the taste department. I happened to be in the area so decided to give this place a try, and I was pleasantly surprised. The Brooklyn (around $21, with tax) is what we ordered to go and it was actually delicious. It could do with more toppings (esp the meats) but the pizza tasted fresh, aromatic, and closest thing out West to New York. They also offered salads (Greek, house greens, etc.) but the feta cheese on the Greek looked suspect (e.g., stale) and it wasn't worth the $4 extra. Minus 1 star for that. They have a couple of chairs/tables for eating there, but it didn't feel too cozy. I was surprised by the restaurant's "hole in the wall" look, but don't let appearances fool you. Give their pizzas a try.

This is an unassuming place with great service and food. Their wait-staff is always anticipating our needs. My husband loves the pizza and almost always orders that, thin crust and all. At this restaurant you have choices, what type of pasta, what type of sauce, with or without a salad, small plate, large plates and the best garlic bread, ever. Try their desserts---yum!I would love to see beer on tap but, beer and wine is all you need when you go Italian!

I wasn't expecting too much when we went in to get a pizza. Kind of an industrial decor with quotes from famous people on the wall. Actually, that was interesting. You can order a pizza or tell the server what you would like on a custom pizza. We wanted thin crust and actually got what we wanted. No wine offered but the server offered us water while we were waiting and that was nice of her. Maybe a little gritty but clean enough for a busy Saturday night.

CPK wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The service was OK, but not particularly attentive and fast. The food was OK, but not particularly wonderful. The Cedar Plank Salmon dish was not particularly tasty, but almost tasted like it was boiled. And the serving size was just barely enough. The Kids Meals consisting of Mac N Cheese and fruit juice were OK. The shrimp scampi and zucchini fetticine was a little lacking as there wasn't much shrimp. The BBQ chicken salad was just OK. May be a while before another visit.

I have never in my life heard of cornbread pizza. So when a friend who drives about 25 miles one-way told me that it is the best pizza in town, I had to try it out. For starters I ordered the "split pizza" where they sell you one slice that is cut in half. That with the Pasta Putanesca was more than the two of could eat. I hate having food left over that I have to put in the refrigerator. The staff was efficient and really went out of their way to explain the "gluten-free" concept and made recommendations on what food to order. It was a fun experience.
