Paesano is located on the main pedestrian street of Alvor. The terrace offers a spectacular view of the Ria de Alvor and the main street leading down to the ria, while the covered patio in the back of the restaurant is perfect for a quiet meal. This is th
We went for dinner at Paesano last night as I am gluten intolerant and was very excited that they had gluten free pasta on the menu! We were given a nice table outside on the balcony and the waiters were very lovely, talkative and easy to talk too, one even gave us a recommendation of vineyards. All in all an amazing start to our evening!Nonetheless, after 30 minutes we asked a waiter if he could check our starters. The manager came down straight away with the Italian cheese board (just slices of cheese, a few walnuts & honey) & said that the (not homemade) calamari is just coming. They had clearly forgotten about our starters, and no apology was given by the manager. Our pastas arrived, looked amazing and we were offered Parmesan and black pepper. During eating my gluten free penne pasta, I noticed a small handful of spaghetti (note: only gluten free penne and fusilli were available). As Iâm gluten intolerant not coeliac, I set it aside and continued eating. When the waiter took our plates away, I informed him of the spaghetti I found in a gluten free penne dish. His facial expression clearly said he knew this was an issue. The manager came to us and said âI donât have an explanation but well I do. We use the same cooking water for gluten free as normal pasta. Sometimes when we drain it, some other leftover pasta comes too.â To which I then responded âthat is not allowed, you cannot use the same water for both pastasâ. He looked at me blankly and asked why not. I said âthe some of gluten in pasta comes out when cooking into the water, you are then cooking gluten free pasta in the same water that is contaminated by gluten. This is illegalâ. He just shrugged, clearly not understanding the very large issue he has on his hands. This is against EU law and regulations, they could potentially cause a death. Please please if you are highly sensitive, do NOT come to this restaurant. We are very sorry You had such a bad experience visiting us. The waiting time for your food is unfortunately a situation which is not normal for us, tough mistakes may happen , and can just say we are sorry for that. When it comes to the gluten-free pasta,we have looked into the routine in the kitchen and the Chefe could tell me a mistake was made, as they have a special cooking device for gluten-free.This was a very serious mistake which we take full responsibility for, our routines was not safe enough , and we have since your visit changed to be sure this will not happen again. Pls accept our sincere apologies.Kind regards

We had this restaurant recommended to us and what a surprise it was. The restaurant looked well kept, but the service was poor. Firstly we ordered a litre bottle of water and was given 75ml. When we queried it, they were surprised we noticed. They then they told us they had sold out of 1 litre bottles but why hadnât they told us when we ordered? We waited 35 minutes for our food and when it came my Napoli Pizza hardly had anything on it. I had four anchovies and about five olives and that was it! I should have asked for an explanation but remained diplomatic and decided that I would not come back there again. My friends plate was almost taken away twice before he finished. This is very poor and unacceptable. This is a shame and does not reflected the other restaurants weâve been to here in Alvor.

Neapolitan Pizzeria / Pizza Napoletana
Popped in for lunch having decided on an Italian option. Well laid out restaurant serving very good Italian food. Good menu choice, the Pizza Calabrese was particularly tasty. Anti pasta and Buffalo starter very good also. Service was excellent and the cost very reasonable. Recommended.

Miss Pasta Restaurant Well placed in the centre of the complex, Pizzaria âMiss Pastaâ is the better choice for those who like Italian cuisine. With a wide choice of pizzas and pastas, this is the best option for that family meal. Open from April to Octobe
On arrival in Alvor we dropped our bags and went straight to our favourite place. We were greeted with smiles and made feel so welcome. The food is amazing and they serve you the portion size you want. We also got take away during our stay which was equally as nice. I would recommend you book to ensure you get a table as August was really busy.

We are an family owned authentic Italian Restaurant with a variety of Mediterranean cuisine. Opening hours are from 6pm to 11pm.
See this place on trip advisor, so based on that alone we've had our first meal out in Alvor.Absolutely lovely, great pizza, tasty, fresh, and a good size.Lots loved their garlic bread pizza and margherita. The Don Pedro.... Well that's a new one on me and a great recommendation. All in all a lovely meal. 10%off future meal. I didn't think 58euros was too bad for four including dessert.Costumer service was great. Dead friendly!

Ristorante tipico italiano con prodotti tipici e piatti unici da gustare in un ambiente calmo e familiare
Had a pizza and lasagne to share. The lasagne was good but the pizza base was too thick. Wine cost more than the food. Wouldn't visit again. Better Italian restaurant in Alvor.
