Find out what Northern-Italian restaurants to try in Verona. So splendid was medieval Verona that its reputation alone inspired Shakespeare to set two plays here (Romeo and Juliet and The Two Gentlemen of Verona). Though its connection to the actual Capulets is tenuous at best, the so-called Juliet's House draws half a million tourists per year, many of them keen on reenacting the balcony scene. Don't miss the Roman amphitheater and the Palazzo Barberi.

Whenever I write a review, I take a range of factors into account relative to the cost, reputation, expectations and type of establishment. As such, ratings are accordingly subjective. The reviews of Parma a Tavola appeared excellent, and we wanted to try an authentic lasagne in Verona on our last evening here. The restaurant is quite small, with only three or four tables downstairs. We didn't have a reservation, but that wasn't a problem. We were led upstairs into another dining area, which was surprisingly quiet for a weekend evening. The decor was unusual, in that the walls were covered in handwritten comments by guests from all over the world, giving the place a cosmopolitan and contemporary feel. The room was stiflingly hot, although the air conditioning unit was turned off. Some of the diners went about tinkering with the unit and managed to get it working. Kind of... The room was also deathly quiet, with no ambient music, despite there being a sound system installed. Now I abhor intrusive music during dinner, but the silence was quite disconcerting, leading to hushed conversation between guests. We ordered two Cokes and a bottle of wine and, of course, lasagne! Two bottles of Coke were served, along with the wine. Unfortunately, the bottles of Coke weren't open, nor were there any wine glasses. After a few minutes, we managed to attract a waiter's attention, and he resolved the issue. Only latterly did I notice that other diners had an ice bucket for their wine, whereas we made do without. The lasagne was incredible! Never have I had such a wonderful one, and every mouthful was a delight!Afterwards, the lovely waiter asked if we'd like coffee or dessert, so I ordered two espressos and asked to see the menu again. Coffees were brought, but no dessert menu, which was a shame. This place could be great, and the food already is. The service however friendly, was poor, which really detracted from the experience. There are many far better restaurants in this beautiful city. I won't be going back to Parma a Tavola any time soon...

We fancied ravioli and did a search for Verona's best ravioli... La Cantina del 15 came up as having great ravioli so we thought we would do the trek from our hotel over there, and it did not disappoint. Friendly waitress who seated us straight away... Lovely little amuse bouche from the kitchen to start, and also a lovely bread basket. The ravioli came next and was just divine. Great size and just so tasty! Highly recommend!

Everything has started with an idea of genuine food, simple, cheap and fast. This type of food service is usually offered by some fast food companies which hardly reflect all those values. Especially if we consider genuineness, an increasing trend which i
This looked like a fairly popular spot with locals, and the Pasta Norma I got didnât disappoint. I was looking for something light to take to my apartment and this was perfect. I think it was around 8 euro. The pasta was hot and al dente, the sauce was rich and delicious. I did add crushed pepperoncino peppers and some oil to the top before I left for home, which was a nice addition. While fast food is not typically an Italian custom, itâs nice to have this option. There are more âstreet foodâ options popping up that offer savory dishes â in addition to the pizza-by-the-slice and panini options there have been.

We were taken here for lunch, it was simply amazing. I ate the local boiled meats (selection of about 6) with a selection of sauces and potatoes. It was magnificent. The owner was super friendly and very funny. The local wine Amarone, is to die for â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ You must visit if you are in town.
