Went here for lunch with a group, and had a separate room within the cafe. What a neat place I was very impressed with everything. Great service with friendy staff, fabulous food, reasonable prices for good portions, also lovely cabinet food.

I am so impressed with this out of the way destination eatery. It's tucked away down a long tree'd drive and surrounded by charming cottage garden plantings. There are multiple beautifully restored old agricultural outbuildings, which in turn, shelter a sunny brick courtyard filled with garden furniture. The buildings are beautifully filled with recycled, upcycled vintage and antique pieces, carefully chosen to enhance the wabi sabe country vibe. I loved it! We had scones and tea - served on vintage china of course. The scones were freshly home made and accompanied by plentiful whipped cream and home made quince jelly. The lunch items on the menu sounded tempting and I will be back to try them another day. It is well worth a drive in the country. There's plenty of parking and the staff and owner were friendly and knowledgeable. Impressive. Many thanks for taking the time to review our special place.I am so happy that you enjoyed your experience and look forward to welcoming you in the future.

Great setting with friendly wait staff and very busy. The first thing to go wrong was slow service to get drinks, then confusion over who ordered what, We ordered mains and some arrived but not what was ordered for our table. Then the correct mains arrived but mine was a lot later than the others. I ordered the Pork Belly $34.00. When it finally arrived everyone at our table commented on how small it was for the price. I started on it expecting the crackling to be edible but it was not, I turned the pork on it's side to cut the meat off the belly but it was tiny, about the thickness of a slice of bread. I returned it and said that I was not going to accept that (they didn't charge for it) and they offered a replacement but the others would have finished theirs by the time I got it so I declined and had a dessert. When the desserts arrived once again they were not what was ordered so eventually we got ours and they offered us the other 'spare' desserts which was a nice gesture but still no replacement for the main. When we were waiting for the mains we saw another patron return her meal.I've had several pork belly dishes over the last few years, this was by far the worst value. As I said earlier the staff were friendly but the whole event was a big letdown as we were there to celebrate a friends biirhdayThank you for sharing your friends birthday celebration at Melton Estate. I am sorry you didn't enjoy your experience with us. Thank you for appreciating that we were busy with a table of 30, who did not all arrive at their time they booked in, and therefore their orders arrived into the kitchen with all the others. We have debriefed with our staff, as we appreciate all good feedback, and are working on resolving these issues. I am pleased your table of 8 guests enjoyed the free desserts. We want our customers to have a great dining experience at Melton estate and would welcome you back again.

From Australia, whilst visiting friends in West Melton, visited the Two Fat Possums for a quick inquisitive drink. Instead we stayed for cheese and dukkah pizza for entree and the curry special for dinner. Family friendly, staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating to ourselves and our children. When we return to NZ we will definitely call past again, we want to try the Pizzas!!!!

Had a midweek dinner with a group of friends. Although we were a large group the resturant was empty. The meals came out in intervals and I had finished before my friend sitting next to me had even received hers. The food was average, I was a little disappointed as I was expecting more.

We got a great deal on FirstTable where first diners get 50% off the price of food. The portions are big, yummy and there is lots to choose from. The staff are friendly and itâs a nice casual atmosphere.

Out for Saturday lunch. The service was excellent. The meals ordered were a prawn & pear salad along with a Bacon & Chicken Wrap, both also were excellent. There were ample prawns and just enough hint of sweet pear, totally surprised by the mix of tastes. We wont leave it so long this time until we return.

Everyone needs a place to escape. Somewhere to pull up, unwind and let the world roll on by. And we say thereâs no better spot than The Pedal Pusher. So get on your bike, come on in and let us treat you to a fine beverage, tasty fare and the friendliest w
I had an entree of pop corn chicken as did my son which was quiet nice, my partner had prawns which she enjoyed. For Mains I had Pork belly which was over done and tough, my son had Fish and chips which was oily, greasy and in-eatable and my partner had seafood chowder which again was in eatable. We were charged 178.00 which included drinks, I don't mind paying that for a good dining experience, but it was not the case on this occasion. We are really sorry to hear that you didn't enjoyed the meals, and they were not cooked to your liking. I hope you brought this up with the staff on the night, and I am pretty sure that they would have had subsidized the meals in that scenario. We hope you give us another chance in the future as we always aim to provide the best in food and service.Thank you.

We've been to Robert Harris cafes before but this was our first time to this one.The menu was the same as the others, so we both chose the very enjoyable Vege Stack from their breakfast menu, mainly because of the mushrooms. It was fantastic, as were the coffee and chai latte. The place was rather busy but the young women delivering food and coffees to the tables were smiley and very pleasant. Unfortunately, those taking the orders at the counter weren't at all like that. That aside, there will be a next time which hopefully will raise my score to the 5 it so easily could earn.
