A cosy cafe nestled amongst the Hillsbourough hills, that has a strong focus on locally sourced, free farmed, organic produce & self sustainability.
Dog friendly, free dog treats and great food, heaven!Always eat banoffee buttermilk pancakes, with salted Carmel sauce, grilled banana, cinnamon mascarpone & almond praline. You feel like you are eating on masterchef! Great potato chive balls etc. Go & enjoy all dishes at a good price

The Cornershop Bistro celebrates its eleventh year in Sumner Village as a local favourite, recommended by Lonely Planet 2015 as the place to visit in Sumner. The menus deliver European inspired dishes in the Brunch and Dinner menus like the Sirloin Steak w
We were a group of 9 and we had to push our reservation back even later into the evening. The staff were very welcoming and hospitable despite our tardiness. A couple of us chose the Stuffed Capsicum Dolma with slow cooked lamb shoulder and we both agreed it was delicious and the lamb very tender. We also appreciated the selection of aged port and whiskies to finish the meal with. Wonderful service, seasonal and fresh menu options with a Canterbury focussed wine list. It's so easy to produce a menu which is same same - but this place is unique in it's offerings. I will be back!

The Valley Inn Tavern has been at the centre of the Heathcote Valley for over 130 years.Find out here what is happening at 'The Valley' and be a part of this wonderful community.Heathcote's Valley Inn restaurant specialises in locally sourced ingredients,
Although an old Heathcote identity and establishment this tavern has been tastefully refurbished to provide very welcome and pleasant surroundings. A pleasing choice for out group lunch, made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and helpful staff. We also appreciated having a separate dining area. There was a good selection of traditional meals on the menu plus some lunch specials at a very reasonable price. The meals were also generous. Although tasty the pork roast was a little grisly and the crackling inedible. However, the vegetables were very well cooked. A little more gravy would have been nice. A very good seafood chowder which was thick and creamy, but too much chewy mussels. Overall we all enjoyed the meal and the venue. Happy to return.
Eruption is a small, locally owned brewery in the heart of historic Lyttelton making authentic handcrafted beers using only the best south island ingredients. We also craft a menu of locally sourced hearty food. Get amongst the tanks in our ground floor T
Staff forgot about our order of a cold platter and while the price of one drink was taken off the total bill there was no apology or basic politeness when communicating this. When it eventually arrived 45 minutes after ordering wait staff plonked it down on the table without saying a single word. The platter for two at $22 contained four small slices of one cheese, a couple of meats, hummus, store bought pre-cut gherkins and olives, mesculin that was off and four small slices of over salted pita bread. Definitely wasn't worth waiting for. Thanks for your review, appreciated. Let us know if you come through again as we feel we have not lived up to the service we give every other customer. We've also tried contacting you through your Google review as well.

Governors Bay Hotel is an historic 1870s hotel with stunning views over Lyttelton Harbour. Located just 20 minutes drive from central Christchurch via Dyers Pass Road. Gastro-pub fare at reasonable prices from the garden, bar or restaurant. Recommended in
Following a nice, but short, drive from Christchurch we were all pleased with our food which slots into the 'good pub meal' category. The service was however disappointing but, to be fair, I suspect we caught them on a bit of a bad day - Sunday lunchtime; member of staff absent; one waitress unfortunately dropped a couple of plates of food; and so on!!Hi there,Thank you for your contribution to the TA forum. Some days donât go as planned and when you have a busy Sunday service ahead itâs not ideal to have key staff absent due to illness. Anyway, stuff happens and weâre very glad you enjoyed your meals with us.Kind regards and happy travels,Jeremy

At the Fisherman's Wharf we have the catch phrase,'From the Boat to Plate'and for a very good reason....We have our own local commercial fishing boats and that means our seafood is as fresh as it gets! In fact, we've been fishing as a family for over 50 y
Great service and great food. We sat at the bar overlooking the harbour. Had the Seafood sizzle and dumplings, both excellent.

Working in town and closeby it's not often you see this place quiet. Morning T can be a mission with long ques so make sure you get there early. Good and consistent coffee - nice range of baked goods and an onsite kitchen for other meals. Good value alongside the rest of the CBD coffee shops.
