We only stayed for one night, but would have loved to stay longer! We had dinner on first night, which was beautiful, very well presented, not the cheapest, but it was nice to be able to stay "in" and have dinner.Breakfast (always my favourite) was amazing, lots to choose from, and it all tasted home made. Must return!

We only stayed in Hanmer Springs for the night and after a trip to the pools we went straight across the road to Monteith's. We ordered and didn't expect the meals to be that big, we had the schnitzel with the mexican topper, OMG my daughter and I shared it and we still couldn't finish it. Not only the size but the quality was there and would definately suggest it if your a big eater. Great service and pleasant surroundings.

A quiet night out. This is a great restaurant where a normal conversation can be heard without having excessive noise from music etc making conversation difficult. I had the steak which just melted in my mouth. Loved the garlic butter on the side so that I could administer it myself. Chocolate brownie for dessert was incredible. Others had the Moroccan chicken wrap which they thoroughly enjoyed. Staff were very polite and attentive without being over bearing. Very efficient in taking orders with the food coming out very quickly. We will be back.

The food was fine, service was fine. Just a typical family restaurant. A bit noisy for our group. The atmosphere was okay.

Unfortunately we were in the process of changing staff therefore they could not deliver service as they would like too. My boyfriend and I came here last Saturday for our anniversary. We ordered the beef spring rolls for starters and my bf got the mixed grill and I got the king prawns with rice. The food came out very quickly which was very impressive, however, we were still halfway through our starters and the waitress came over asking if we were ready for our mains (think she was in a rush to get it to us because it was ready) and I said âsureâ meaning we were happy to receive them but she also took away our half eaten spring rolls which we were still eating! I wasnât pleased with this but I was pleased with the taste of the food. Maybe timings is something to work on. When I was in hospitality, we would tell the kitchen the patrons are ready for their mains AFTER they havenât finished their starters.

This Restaurant of ours is always buzzing with tourists, locals, families and groups of friends. We've got big comfy booths, spread out tables and long outside wooden benches for those warm evenings. Relax with a drink or famous cocktail, shoot some pool,
Arrived about 7.30pm, and pleased to see the place was pleasantly buzzing. However, appeared they were either short staffed, or else inexperienced as the service was a bit all over the place. Our first drinks (love the two for one cocktails between 7.00 and 8.00pm) and entree (seafood basket) arrived quickly and were really tasty. But it went downhill from there. Took three attempts to flag down a waiter for our second drinks, and the cream sauces for both the mussel pot and the mushroom and spinach fettucine were mysteriously and unpleasantly sweet. Hubby was pleased the mussel pot was half price on Mondays, as it definitely wasn't worth $26 as the mussels were tiny. Sorry guys, not a great experience.

Stopped in for a couple of cocktails and something to nibble. Shared the garlic prawns between two of us - best either of us have ever had and the portion was plenty for two for an afternoon snack. Great value. Cocktails were fantastic too, also very reasonably priced.

The food was simply fantastic, the portions were great sizes, and the wine list was quite good. Prices were reasonable for food quality, service was excellent, room was cozy and comfortable. There was soooooo much to enjoy, and nothing at all concerning. Small-town fine dining done right. I had the licorice pudding/cake for dessert. Wow. The chocolate/orange fondant was remarkable too. You can't go wrong...
