It is situated just west of Salerno, separated from the Port of Salerno by only a harbour wall. After a disappointing dinner the night before at Marina di Vietri, my girlfriend and I decided we should should go try a restaurant in the hilltop town of Vietri (700m away!). We did our usual search on Tripadvisor and online but nothing was getting our attention so we decided walk around and explore. Lucky we did. The waitress standing in front of Benvenuti A Bordo, with a welcoming smile, asked if we wanted to look at the menu. From there we were hooked. We sat down to the beautifully presented tables (better than any other restaurant we came across) and began our, what I like to call, degustation. We ordered two starters (the moscardini in sugo - divine! and insalata di mare - also superb) and two primi (risotto di scampi - fresh, and perfect for the hot day it was and scialatielli ai frutti di mare - help me say incredible). The bread was perfect (the night before we were given stale bread) for our scarpetta (look that up - you will be doing it too). All this was accompanied by the Biancolella wine, recommended to us by the helpful waitress. Just perfect.But we wanted to try our one more plate of pasta, so we ordered the Calamarata with Vongole. Yes. It was amazing.No room for anymore food, we got 2 amari and the bill. Incredibly reasonable for what we ordered. Yes. There is no sea-view. Yes. Parking is difficult to find, especially in peak season but don't let this stop you. This place is a jewel!I hope this helps you on your trip to Vietri because one thing I could not fathom was leaving Vietri without having had a good meal but as usual Italy does not disappoint. You just need to escape the tourist traps and look for that hidden place that will surprise.

We got a recommendation for this restaurant by our hotel host. It was a great evening with really good food. The small place looks really nice and the chef wants to make sure everyone got a good evening. Thereâs a fixed menu with fresh fish and it all tasted great. Although the chef couldnât speak much English they tried to explain us everything in Italian or by showing us the fish. Would highly recommend it!

It's always great when you find a gem while travelling and La Posteria is certainly the jewel in the crown. We are all 3 foodies, we are critical when it comes to dining out. This place certainly delivered. Delicious food, lovely hospitable service, and great ambience. They have a great selection of meats and cheeses, as well as hot dishes. Everything we ate was simply delicious. Owner-run restaurant so you're guaranteed a good time.

We ordered a Margherita pizza to go and noticed the most beautiful strawberries in the case. Not only did they prepare a sweet strawberry dish (simple, with sugar) but we also bought a basket to take to the hotel.Very nice staff and the pizza was very good.

Walked to end of the main street to find this gem- no English is spoken here so you need to understand what your ordering as the menu is in Italian only- but the food is so authentic and wonderful. he raviolo caprese and parmigiane a vapore with tagliata di manzo was great as was the beer that the owner insisted on me taking for what i ordered as he kept saying no,no to what i was ordering and pointing to what i should have- so i took his suggestion. My wife's white wine was great.

Found this restaurant by chance as we could not locate NATO Crudo - allegedly the TA#1 rated local restaurant - and very glad we did! Specialising in seafood, we opted for the fixed price degustation menu of 4 courses for â¬25 each including house wine, water and cover charge. This turned out to be the most outstanding value of the entire holiday with delicious and varied food cooked to perfection and served promptly and with a smile The restaurant was full of local families - always a good sign - and we were made to feel very welcome. This is one not to be missed.

The personal, location, interior - everything truly Italian! Octopus, rissoto with seafood are execcelent , a lot of fresh seafood and fish everyday ) we are incredible happy that had few dinners in this restaurant) if you live somewhere near you need to visit this tasty restaurant

Well, it's hard to believe that such a wonderful agriturismo...complete with friendly staff, all sorts of animals (horses, geese, goats, chickens, etc.), reasonably-priced nice rooms, and excellent home cooking all exists in a pretty touristic part of Southern Italy. The food is excellent and all local, the rooms are nice with amazing views of the sea, and you can fully enjoy the beautiful Amalfi coastline from this place, and on its several levels of terraced spaces. Some of the rooms have been carved out of the rock of the hillside. You will have to leave your car up above the place as the entry road is not very wide. They will take you and your bags to and from your car in their shuttle at no extra cost. Also included is a wonderful breakfast full of local cakes, coffee, yoghurt, etc., etc.

This is not in the general busy touristic area - and you have to make the effort to find it. The pasta and seafood dishes are very good and the service is friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our lunch here and would happily go again.

Went based upon great TA reviews and did not disappoint! There are a lot of pizza restaurants but this was better - fresh, hot and tasty! Great location sitting outside, had the Diavolo and it was fantastic.
