Khasab (Arabic: خصب Ḫaṣab) is a city in an exclave of Oman bordering the United Arab Emirates. It is the local capital of the Musandam peninsula and has frequently been dubbed the "Norway of Arabia" because of its extensive fjord-like craggy inlets and desolate mountainscapes.

We re-visited Khasab after 3 years and went back to Al Shamaliah and they have maintained their good standard of food and service. When we got there Abdullah (I think I've got his name right!) recognised us which was a good start. We had the mixed grill and a shish tawouk and both were tasty, freshly cooked and excellent value. Definitely see this as the best of its type in Khasab

My family and I were put in to this by our friendly tour guide Meckey. In fact when, we turned up he was seated in the corner having his evening meal. The owner was wonderfully welcoming and given we were unfamiliar with Persian cuisine was very patient explaining to us what was on offer. For an entree we had an eggplant and hummus dip which was delicious. We then followed it up with a mutton, a chicken, a whole BBQ fish and a vegetable dish - all of which were really fresh and tasty. We then had an Iranian tea (if you have never had it....you must...an amazing visual spectacle) and some of the owner's special halwa. In summary, a delightful experience and highly recommended.

Was told to go there by our tour guide. Didn't expect much because we have our favorite mandi restaurant in Dubai. We order fish & chicken mandi. The portions were so big we could barely finish them. They gave us lentil soup as a starter. It was delicious, we had to ask for more. The main dishes were great, the whole thing was only 12 riyals. I highly recommend this place!
This restaurant sits on its own next to the seaside, under 5-mins drive from the Golden Tulip hotel on the way into Khasab.A typical Gulf restaurant with plastic chairs and tables outside selling the usual fare of shawarma and kebabs in addition to Indian and Chinese dishes. We choose to sit outside and have our meal and enjoy the scenery which was slightly disturbed by the very loud television until we asked them to turn it down.We had the shrimp kebab, chicken kebab and lamb kebab along with nice fresh bread, rice, salad, hummus and soft drinks which were all very good tasting and value at OR7 for the two of us.I would use this restaurant again and imagine that it is similar in quality and value to the numerous similar restaurants in Khasab.
