You wouldnât necessarily find this or be enticed in unless you had had had a personal recommendation or had read a TA review, but it is worth seeking out. Doesnât have an alcohol licence. Food was freshly prepared. Good value. Setting a bit rough & ready. Ambient temperature not that warm at the time of our visit, but it was verging on zero degrees outside anyway. Food could have been slightly hotter than the temperature it was served at.

Yet another venture into a Persian Restaurant and this time it was A Taste of Persia, 14 Marlborough Crescent in the heart of Newcastle City Centre. The food served in Persian Restaurant are so flavoursome and tonight was no exception. Absolutely superb quality food cooked to perfection. Tonight for our starters we had the Hummus at £3.25 and the Nann bread at £2.00 it was enough for two to share. We both succumbed to the Joojeh which is marinated chicken on the grill at £6.50 and Chenjeh which is fillet of lamb on the grill at £9.00 accompanied with two portions of saffron rice. The restaurant is actually on 3 levels with the toilets accessible only by climbing stairs. It opens 12.pm to 11.pm Monday - Saturday but please note they stop serving food at 10.pm.

Modern Turkish Restaurant Serving Halal Cold And Hot Mezzes, Bbq Dishes, Meat, Fish And Vegetarian Dishes, Turkish Desserts, Tea And Coffees.
Popped in for some food on the way to a hospital appointment and boy was I surprised. I went for the lunch time special and had hummus and chicken wings. The hummus alone could have easily fed two people with the amount of bread which came with it and whatever the wings had been cooked in tasted absolutely amazing. Turned a bad hospital day into a positive one. The two women who served me were also extremely friendly, great service.

Just moved in a stone's throw from here and I've been twice in a week. Great food, excellent service and some interesting Turkish wines - rarely seen.I've tried both the a la carte and the early evening special menus. Both great. On night one, my red wine was corked, the waiters were very understanding and changed the bottle, agreeing the two smelled very differently. I'll be back often, it's my new local

Recently stayed nearby and had dinner twice at the cafe. On both occasions the Meal was tasty, generous servings with lovely fresh salad to accompany. I would rate the flat bread as possibly the best I have ever had with the lamb wrap. Great service and great value.
