In our continued quest to find good local food spots that not are chains, we discovered this little gem that we had been driving right by for years! It is immaculately clean and bright and has a great selection of bowls, salads, and sandwiches with all the sauces and fixing.I had a chicken kebab bowl pictured below.Everything was fresh and delicious.Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for something new. They also serve fresh squeezed juices and Apparently bake their own desserts & pastries. The owner was super nice and attentive.Dear Ted, thank you so much for taking the time to write a fabulous review about us, we were glad to hear that you enjoyed eating at Zayrouna. We truly appreciate your business and looking forward for your next visit.

Great food and quick. My Gyro: Soft / way better than usual pita. Lamb was nicely spiced (nice flavor, but not over the top - so it complemented rather than overwhelmed the lamb as some others do). On the side: Tzatziki was very good - and hot sauce had a nice kick. My only slight disappointment was that they could have been a bit more generous with the veggies.Bright clean environment. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. If you happen to be stuck in Jury Duty at the Monmouth Superior Court - this is a great option for a close, quick, and good lunch (that's what it was for me).

Baku serves primarily Azerbaijan cuisine (the former being the country's capital city), with certain dishes similar to Turkish cuisine, the country that shares many cultural and linguistic parallels with Azerbaijan. Having said that, the menu is not strictly limited to the above; it features a broader culinary tradition of the former USSR republics, thus you are going to find on the menu such traditional Russian dishes as borscht, herring, blintzes with red caviar (salmon roe), etc. The interior is quite festive, with candelabras, ornate wall decorations, good distance between the tables, etc. The exterior offers great looking alfresco dining area, bordered by balustrade, all reminiscent of the old Black or Caspian Sea resorts. The service is good, polite, and efficient. The food preparation and presentation is overall good. Our borscht and Neptune salad were great. The veal tongue traditionally served with sharp-tasting horseradish was decent too, but the horseradish was substituted to a sweet-tasting mayo, which took away some of the dish' good points. The herring was delicious, but, again, served with French fries instead of traditionally mandated boiled potatoes. As far as your kabobs, we would recommend you pass on the more expensive duck and opt instead for chicken, tasting much better. The qual tabaka (our other main course) wasn't bad at all. We would also highly recommend kutab, a stuffed bread somewhat similar to the Indian kulcha; the stuffing options include greens, chicken, etc. Two cons: one is that certain items on the menu weren't available, such as smoked sturgeon or Napoleon dessert. The restaurant's menus then have to be updated, otherwise it simply doesn't look good. Secondly, quite a few items on the menu were obviously overpriced, such as Duck Shish Kabob ($28) or Blintzes with red caviar ($24). These are the prices of the top-notch Onegin NYC and look out of place in an establishment located at Freehold mall. Other than above, good place and we will definitely come again.
I just found this wonderful restaurant/take-out place. If you want to take out, they do offer it. You can also sit in as they have several tables available in restaurant. This is a great place for beautifully seasoned and prepared Middle Eastern cooking. Cooking is exceptional and they appear to use very fresh spices and other seasonings. This is a place to come for a great convenient meal or take it home and enjoy it there. Very fresh food and memorable tasting dishes. This food is very good and they offer catering menu - so I guess they are prepared to make meals for large groups, but there is no room in the restaurant for something like a large party. Great food, great value and it's very memorable. The sandwich menu is definitely a great value for someone hungry without a lot of money - considering the very high quality of this food - it's a wonderful value for the money charged.
Authentic Uzbek cuisine in the heart of Central Jersey. We offer variety of kebabs and signature Uzbek dishes.
Never having had Uzbek cuisine before, we tried Old Bukhara for something different, and it was a happy choice. Service was not overwhelming but acceptable. We ordered a couple of appetizers, Chuckvara (fried dumplings - boiled may have been better) and a pumpkin filled pastry (Samsa), which was very good. We tried the "national dish", Palov, a pilaf with vegetables and small chunks of meat. It would have served as the main dish, or a side for four people. It was very good. With this we had kebobs of lamb and Kufta, seasoned ground lamb and beef, both excellent. Old Bukhara is a BYO which allowed us to have wine with our meal. The restaurant was not busy so I hope it stays in business because we want to return.
