Reviews on Middle Eastern food in Casablanca, Grand Casablanca Region, Morocco. Today Casablanca is a large, modern city, but the former French colonial post still allows myriad movie moments for those who want to revisit love in the medina and Old City. Casa (as locals call it) isn’t too touristy, but it’s the most cosmopolitan and Western-feeling city in Morocco. Visit The King Hassan II Mosque and Casa's Medina.

After experiencing a fairly shocking array of dreadful Moroccan restaurants and dire levels of service during our trip to Casablanca it was a pleasure to find this local restaurant close to (15 minute walk along the Corniche)our appalling hotel(Lido Thalasso)on our last night. We chose to ignore a lot of the adverse comments on TripAdvisor and were pleasantly surprised to be guided into a lovely restaurant with typical Andalusian surrounds and decor all accompanied by a heavy Moroccan vibe without the chaos and lack of hygiene!!! The food was very good(chicken Tagine and Lamb tagine)and the Moroccan wine(Moroccan rose) was just fine. Itâs not cheap by local standards(we paid â¬75 euros for 2x main courses and one shared dessert plus a bottle of wine and two bottles of water) but we were entirely happy with the service, quality of food and the local vibe. In a desert of decent joints we were ecstatic to finish on a high. Sadly we never got to experience the belly dancer but I was at least able to encourage my wife to make an effort on this front once back at our flea pit of a hotel!

A lovely lunch spent at Sqala. Authentic food, reasonably priced in a beautiful setting amongst a gorgeous garden with lots of secluded spaces. The restaurant is hidden behind a fortress wall, protected by cannons of the yesteryear. Well worth the effort.

Enjoyed a very nice classic Moroccan meal at this restaurant. Great value for money, reasonable size portions and good tasty food, mint tea included

An inconspicuous bouncer, an unobtrusive entrance, a hidden, beautiful garden in the courtyard. The historic Moroccan atmosphere convinces and invites. The staff in historical suits is very friendly, well-groomed, fast and secure. 5 stars plus.Likewise the receptionist. Unique! In an impressive interior, occasionally in the company of captains and other personalities, you can eat and drink here sensationally well, but also relatively cheap. The world's best TAJINE POULET AU CITRONE (recommended by the receptionist! And that's right!)Star cook! That was a real pleasure. Can I have some more, please!

We really loved this place. Open during the day, even during Ramadan. Small, cosy, beautifully decorated with traditional plates, textiles, lamps and family portraits. The food was outstanding, all three meals we ordered were excellent; beef kefta tagine, vegetarian couscous and chicken kefta. The owner was friendly and spoke a little English. Highly recommended.

We selected Atelier Oriental after reading comments on Trip Advisor, and were delighted with our choice. The four of us ordered very different types of food, and all were excellent. Service was a bit uneven. Appetizers came quickly enough, but two entrees were delayed by more than a little bit. Worth the wait, though. The tagine was perfectly prepared, and the baba ganoush was the best we've ever had. Hummus was fresh, and had a good tahini flavor. I had the Moroccan chicken liver appetizer, and it about made a meal for a smaller appetite; the sauce was tangy and delicious. The chicken pastille was large and very well prepared.Overall, a place we would return to if ever in Casablanca again!
