The food is pretty good here, always has good presentation too. But it's so messy every where I just don't get it. The walls, the blinds, the windows...it actually grosses me out when I'm sitting there. I try to not look around. Like one night when you close...someone clean up the walls, etc...I don't get it. I only go here when I have kids with me...they have a really good kids menu. When it's an adult only day out...I go elsewhere...somewhere where the walls aren't sticky!

Went through the drive in window. Service was fast, food was hot and good. Fare typical for any Taco Bell.
Like any Qdoba, the food was very good. The thing that stood out about this particular Qdoba was the generous portion sizes, as I've found certain Qdobas across the state decreasing the Craft 2 portions to the point it's not really even worth the $8.50 anymore. I was also impressed by the friendliness and speed of the staff.
My family and I go here about once a week. The food is awesome. Large portions and good variety to pick from off the menu. There is also a little grocery store with this restaurant. The prices are great for the amount of food you get.

To me there are only 3 things important in any Mexican restaurant. Chips and salsa and of course margaritas.El Salto has great chiips and salsa and their margaritas are the best mass produced I've ever had. The bartender told me what goes into the 5 gallon mix.My take is after these 3 does it matter how the food is?We liked the decor a lot. Very typical Mexican.Place was packed on Friday evening at 5:30. We just moved to Valpo and are getting use to eating early but 5:30?In any case, service was friendly and food came fast( considering the place was packed). We has fish taco"s. Good but would have been better on corn tortillas. It was OK. We plan on being back to try different things.Neither of us understand the low overall rating for El Salto?Try it.

Went here for lunch today and was so surprised with how delicious and fresh everything was. For the price the amount of food you get is impressive, the pork tostadas were delicious, as well as the steak tacos. You cannot go wrong with any choice you make here. Great place to go for lunch or dinner!

The December taco of the month was fantastic! I hope the owners read this and decide to add it to the regular menu! Also their salsa verde is fantastic! I love that you can order single tacos or any taco as a burrito! The atmosphere is fun and the service is always fantastic! I like that everything is made to order

With the vast array of restaurants to choose from in Valparaiso, it would be easy to overlook this place. It is very clean, but nondescript from the outside. When you enter you see a meat counter filled with various entree items to take home to finish preparing. Don't be fooled. Take a look at the daily specials on the board. Keep going. Have a seat in the dining area. Enjoy the first round of homemade chips and salsa while you try to decide between Greek cuisine and Mexican. If you choose the beef kebabs be prepared to eat some very tender marinated beef and vegetables that are huge!.. It is accompanied by rice and potatoes. If you choose tacos, be prepared to choose between pork, chicken, brisket, rib eye, prime rib, shrimp, etc. They are prepared with onion and cilantro but you can go with cheese lettuce and tomato or any variation. My fave is brisket. Be prepared to take food home. The service is good also. BTW. They also have BBQ. Haven't got around to that yet. Many items for sale to go such as tamales, chips and salsa, kebabs, stuffed grape leaves, tzatziki sauce, etc. !

Both the food and service were excellent. We ordered tostadas and carne asada taco dinner. Both entrees had larger amount of meat than expected. The carne asada was prepared perfectly (none of the fatty fried stuff I've had at other Mexican restaurants). Be sure to order a cold XX to wash down the chips & salsa. Our food came quick and the wait staff were very attentive and friendly.
