Discover Restaurants offering the best Mexican food in Vallejo, California, United States. Vallejo (/vəˈleɪ(h)oʊ/ və-LAY-(h)oh; Spanish: [baˈʎexo]) is a waterfront city in Solano County, California, located in the North Bay sub-region of the San Francisco Bay Area. Vallejo is geographically the closest North Bay city to the inner East Bay, so it is sometimes mistakenly associated with that region. The population was 115,942 at the 2010 census. It is the tenth most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the largest in Solano County. Vallejo sits on the northeastern shore of San Pablo Bay, 30 miles north of San Francisco, the northwestern shore of the Carquinez Strait and the southern end of the Napa River, 15 miles south of Napa. The city is named after General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, a native Californio, leading proponent of California's statehood, and one of the first members of the California State Senate; the neighboring city of Benicia is named for his wife, Francisca Benicia Carrillo de Vallejo.

Baldos has the best carnitas tacos and they are huge. Two for just $7.00. They are simple all meat no filler and both their sauces, red and green are delicious. Great takeaway!!
I've been supporting this place for more than 15 years. The food is consistently good, and the staff is always friendly. A great bargain for what you pay for.

This is my local neighborhood TB. Always end up coming here 3-4 times in a month. Consistent food in appearance, taste, quality, and quantity.Staff is friendly, and is patient when looking at the menu drags on. The current menu displays are a bit too high up, too small in font size to be readable unless you are right in front of what you are reading, and tilted at just the right angle to have the overhead lighting wash out and obscure reading what is on the menu for me, but that is not this store's fault. Store can get busy with the staff working the Drive Thru window. Be sure to check your order when brought out to the front counter for completeness. I have had a couple instances where the line has shorted me on ordered items.Store is located right off of Westbound I 80, with convenient return to the freeway. East I 80 you need to cross over the freeway, but equally as easy on/off.

When we think Chevys Fresh Mex, we go to our happy place; fun-lovinâ guests, fajitas & margaritas, and the freshest food, always from scratch. Founded in 1986 in Alameda, California, Chevys is an ultra-casual restaurant concept that offers guests an array
Iâve eaten lunch at Chevys twice this week. Clean, comfortable, very friendly staff. Combo plate was very good and plenty of food. The fajitas are decent, not bad, but prob just not for my taste. Iâd agree with their statement about fresh ingredients and recommend them for lunch or dinner.
My husband and son-in-law say the chicken mole is the best they have ever had, and they are aficionados of mole. Vegetarian daughter and I had what she said was the best veggie tostada she's ever had, and I loved my chiles relllenos, which in an unusual but lovely twist, has a verde sauce. Prices were good if not cheap, but the food is such a cut above other places in the area no one expects dirt-cheap! Try it, but don't expect fancy!

The first restaurant was opened in 1983 in San Diego by Ralph Rubio and his father, Ray, who started the fish taco phenomenon that spread across the nation. Today, Rubioâs menu has grown from The Original Fish Taco® to include additional chef-crafted seaf
When Rubio's first opened in Vallejo and its first few years, the service was excellent and fast. Nowadays, it runs on the very slow pace. You can see it too when you are waiting and look over at the kitchen area. People seem to be just standing and chatting mostly. One time, we noticed the staff suddenly started moving more when apparently the manager or supervisor came in the entrance door from a short errand maybe. Not very well managed or motivated staff it seems. Too bad because despite the ever-increasing prices, it still has good food.

From the first time we've gone there to the last, we always have great food and are always treated like we're special guests. It's a low key place but the food and atmosphere are very good. Not easy to park around their location. The chips and salsa bar is a plus.
