Local favorite of anyone who grew up in Upland. This is an icon of Upland and on Route 66. The food is different than it was twenty years ago. The sauce is spicier than it used to be. A lot of the menu items have changed. But, it seems to still be going strong. We frequent it about once every few months. If they ever get the original sauce back, we would frequent it practically every day!

This restaurant offers a wide variety of Mexican dishes with lots of vegetarian options. I had veggie burrito which was chock full of various vegetables including zucchini, peppers and eggplant (among others) as well as rice and cheese. It was really large and I ate the whole thing. I ordered it wet with red sauce. However, I would say that the red sauce was quite bland compared to most of the red sauces at similar restaurants. There is a taco bar on Tuesdays (but not for vegetarians). Draft beer and margueritas are reasonably priced at $4.50 per glass. My wife really liked the vegetarian enchiladas.

So, first visit here as I was looking for old school hard shell taco's and saw this had good reviews of them.... so, this small place with both indoor and outdoor seating was friendly, and casual... ordered chips and salsa (almost 4 bucks).. and always feel a little disappointed that you have to pay for them.... but they were fresh, and the salsa was out of this world.... they also gave a refill on both, so wipe out the disappointment about that... my wife and I had a couple of beers each (Tap) which were as cold as any beer served at any restaurant we have eating at (way to go), and order 3 taco's (2 hard shell and on special, which was soft shell.... all were outstanding, but the hard taco's almost almost brought tears to me eyes and they were just what I was looking for.. old school fried shells, with a ton of meat (had chicken and beef... both shredded), a little lettuce and a bit of shredded cheese...OMG, I could eat them every day!!! So, only 4 rating as the service although very friendly, seem to be way off as it was very slow (enough to where they apologized), and really, was the only hic-up of the whole meal.... hoping that it was an off night and that the next time it will be a bit better... but no matter... there WILL be a next time and it will be sooner than later!

The Chiliquiles with green sauce could have used a little more egg and less chips but otherwise they were great. The atmosphere was nice and clean. The servers were friendly. They totally stayed on top of refilling the coffee and waters...yeah! They had a very large menu so we'll be back to try other dishes. No wait on a Sunday morning.
We requested a "booth in the back" as we planned to spend considerable time renewing family ties with a cousin and her husband we had not seen for a year. Our server, Joe, not only found us a most suitable booth but invited us to spend as much time as we needed. The meal was the usual "Chili's good". What set this restaurant apart from others was the manner in which Joe treated us: like everyday very good patrons. He was attentive without being intrusive. Upon being questioned, he revealed that his is a two degree university graduate now studying for his bar exams. If Joe was looking to practice in Canada and I was not retired from the practice of law, I would hire him on the spot. Thanks Joe and thanks Chili's.

It's the Wandering Yank here. A group of us visited Mi Ranchito recently. We had been in the place several years ago when it was a barbecue place. It's pretty big, with indoor and outdoor tables. We had a selection of chile rellenos, chicken quesadilla, tostada salad, and of course rice and beans. Everything was tasty and fresh. Service was excellent, and prices were reasonable. What more can you ask for?2 thumbs up!
If you want chain fast mexican food, then this is the place to go. Decent food, well prepard and filling.
Had breakfast there one morning while in town. If I was in town longer I would have went back. Was very good, Large portions, and inexpensive. Highly recommend.

This is MY local place for their Caritas dinner plate. It is enough for two, but soooo good you won't want to share. Their beans and rice are great and my Mexican friends say that the rice is the most traditional they have had in the local area. I enjoy their little bar area, and that they have the ability to host a large party, or gathering in a private room where you can enjoy their food, beverages, and even live Mariachi music on the weekends! I like being able to call in, or swing by their bar to grab a to-go order on my way home. Highly recommended from me, and also my wife has never said no to going here, even two days in a row.

Parking is good. Reception very good. Property is very clean. Menu varied. Service very good. Food was fresh and flavorful. Every item. From the chips and salsa, the black beans, carnitas, even the rice was excellent. If there is a negative it would be the noise level. Good value
