Formerly known as the Township of Dover, in 2006 voters approved a change of the official name to the Township of Toms River, adopting the name of the largest unincorporated community within the township. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township had a total population of 91,239, with the township ranking as the 8th-most-populous municipality in the state in 2010 (after having been ranked 7th in 2000) and the second most-populous municipality in Ocean County (behind Lakewood Township, which had a population of 92,843). The 2010 population increased by 1,533 (+1.7%) from the 89,706 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 13,335 (+17.5%) from the 76,371 counted in the 1990 Census.

simple food in a simple setting but worth the trip. Tamales are excellent. mole sauce was good. i'll be going back for the carnitas taco for sure. loved the soft corn tortillas. highly recommend for an easy lunch or super casual dinner.

First, if you use google maps to get to this restaurant, it sends you to another location north on the road! So don't use. I had a salad and it was tasty and 'light'. My assessment is exactly what my husband didn't like. The meat was diced and he thought it was tasteless. I would definitely return.

The space is simple & the lighting a bit on the bright side that aside, the food is the shining presentation here! We started with the delicious fresh salsa of jersey tomatoes peppers cilantro onions excellent with home made chips. I had the pork carnitas with wonderful homemade tacos lots of cilantro onions lime & salsa verde with black beans & rice. Fantastic. My boyfriend enjoyed the huaraches with half red & half green salsa with bits of grilled chorizo, beans & cheese (kind of like a pizza sort of) Sensational! Everything is cooked to order with very fresh ingredients. The presentation of the food is also a 10! Service was wonderful, friendly, & helpful with the menu. Plenty of food in each entree without being really heavily laden with a pound of cheese like most other Mexican restaurants. Highly recommended, this place is a winner!!! Canât wait to return!

This is an update to a recent review we submitted. We sincerely appreciate that Margsmanager responds and is dedicated to improving customer service. We returned to a happy hour a couple of days ago. I watched the same bartender make my margarita. The shot of tequila was short as she emptied the bottle. She put the empty bottle aside and rather than replacing it proceeded to put extra triple sec in the shaker to make up for it. She also uses way too much ice, and I like ice. I know my magaritas, replace the bottle for goodness sakes! My drink tasted like orange syrup! On the other hand, the hector's quesadilla gets better every we order it. Further proof that we will.wait until the nighttime bartender comes on duty to get a properly made drink. I hope cooks don't change when bartenders do. A perfect combo would be the 4:30 cook and the 5:15 bartender. Hoping for a perfect next visit!Thanks for the update johnandmary0608! We had not been here for awhile. Cam sort of late as we were the last ones to leave. The food was awesome and large plates. Priced very reasonably. I had the three amigos again and my wife the chili rellano. Excellent. Slow, and relaxed pace. If you are not in a rush come and enjoy!

Walked in early on a Sunday night (5:00pm) without reservations and we were seated immediately. The restaurant filled up quickly after that. Chips and salsa were lackluster, not necessarily tasting homemade. Iâll blame the lack of freshness in the salsa on the season: the dead of winter and lack of fresh, local produce. This complaint aside, everything else was supreme: steak and onions, chicken fajitas, chimichanga, and a spinach dish I cannot remember or pronounce. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. Prices are plenty reasonable. Itâs nice to see an independently-owned business so active, both with dine-in patrons and take-out customers. Support a local!
