The mayor of Snohomish is John T. Kartak and the interim city administrator is Steve Schuller. Snohomish prides itself for its historical downtown, and is known for its many antique shops. Snohomish is also referred to as the "Antique Capital of the Northwest." The historic business and residential center of the town constitutes the Snohomish Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Many houses bear plaques with the year the house was built and the name of the people who originally occupied it. Each year the city gives tours of the historic houses; one of them, the Blackman House, is a year-round museum. A general aviation airfield, Harvey Airfield, is less than one mile southwest of downtown Snohomish.

Been here several times since it's close to home. Food has consistently been very good. However, they absolutely lack in customer service (lack of staffing, not because they are rude...because they're certainly not) and you can expect to get inconsistent service. Our latest visit found us leaving after 10-15 minutes because there was only one server during lunch hour who was also the bartender. So with all the duties on one person, service was spread too thin. Even during the really busy times, there has always been a lack of servers and service. You can find yourself waiting a while. In addition to our latest trip, the ladies restroom had no soap and although it was reported to the only server there, she was too busy to get on it. We were so looking forward to their awesome tacos but couldn't bear to think that we might be there longer than we'd like due to the slow and lacking service. Seems like an easy fix...hire a few more servers (or adjust scheduling for more) and have someone dedicated to be the bartender. It's a shame how much business they're losing as a result of an easy fix... I believe people would line up at the door if they get it figured out!

I noticed this in a search, decided to check it out. They have a huge seafood selection - you get the feeling you should be sitting on the beach in Mexico. Very authentic. On our first visit, we ordered a platter, and both of us were stuffed. Just get your hands messy, wash up afterwards. Lots of options in terms of spice level, from mild to pretty hot. For those who might not be into fish, there's also more traditional options - burritos, etc. They're open fairly late, and have a full bar.Also, try the guacamole - really tasty.

Nice place for food and drinks. Kumon is next door so it was a regular stop twice a week for about 6 months. Limited menu, but the food is worthwhile. Limited beer selection, be sure to try the frozen margaritas and the fajitas.

We stopped El Tapatio on a Saturday afternoon, before dinnertime. Service was very friendly and our food arrived quickly. The food was fine, but not particularly flavorful. Very basic, nothing particularly bad, nor good. The decor is a bit grimy. The place could use a cleaningâespecially the restrooms.

We discovered this tiny shack a few years ago after trying many other "authentic" places in the area.They make absolutely great food with nice portions for a reasonable price!The shack is in a corner of a parking lot about the size of a coffee stand. Don't let the size deter you or the need to wait 5-10 minutes to order due to the line of cars.We love their soft tacos with lengua (beef tongue) and their large burritos with pastor (spicy pork). We have also tried their beef fajitas which were also excellent. They have a green and a red hot sauce (appear to be home made) that are both great but we prefer the red since it is hotter. Their refried beans, often a telltale measure of a good Mexican place, are really, really good.You will often see mostly latino customers (which is a good sign!) but even us gringos appreciate the real deal when it comes to Mexican food.If you are in the area (Snohomish, Woodinville or Mill Creek) it is worth the effort to check this place out.BTW, they have a couple of picnic tables under a cover if you want to eat and watch the cars go by on Hwy 9.

The torta sandwiches here are incredibly good, as is basically everything else on the menu. The spicy chorizo is my go to when picking a meat option, but we often get take out for a large group, including some toddlers, so there are plenty of more mild options available on the menu as well. And if you catch the right time, they sell handmade tamales you can heat up in the microwave at home. The prices are super reasonable as well. We're pretty lucky to have this place so close to our house, but if you're in the area looking for something quick, cheap and real, try it out.

When you're craving that Mexican food from your childhood, the kind you don't really get in Mexico but became the staple in the US west back in the 50s, served on hot plates, with a lake of re-fried beans, Mexican rice (the tomato-orange kind) and a generous portion of whatever you choose for your main: this is the place. The margaritas are served in big heavy glasses you need both hands to lift (well, especially for the 2nd one). The chips are super light and really crunchy, served with pico de gallo and a hot refried beans dip. Three of us went for dinner: all of us got combo dinners, we had five margaritas amongst us, I thought the $105 bill (all in, taxes & tip) was fair value. Staff is really friendly and quick to respond to any request. Absolutely comfort food. BTW, there are tables in the bar side - so if you like dinner sans kids, that's a good option.

This place is the whole package! The food is amazing! Lots of choices - fresh & flavorful.The wait staff is always at the ready! Very friendly and attentive. The owners are great people & always make sure you are having a great experience. The complimentary homemade tortillas when you arrive are delicious. We love this restaurant & have made it a regular choice for our family!

We visited on a weekend during dinner hours and the area was crowded with diners and tourists. Upon entering we were seated within a few minutes at a window table that had an exceptional view of the Snohomish River. Unfortunately, here is where things took a bit of a downward turn as it took almost 20 minutes for drinks and chips to get to the table. I can't fault the server as it is obvious that there were staffing issues during the busiest time of the day. Everyone was doing they best they could be there was literally one server for nearly the entire dining room. Our food was good, hot and plentiful and we left the establishment quite full. The value was on par with the quality and quantity of the fair however we would probably not return if in the area again.See you on the trail and please remember to try to treat with dignity and respect, all whom with you come in contactJohn F
