Bienvenidos to our Gordo familia! This small family business started for one main reason; which, in fact, was to keep the memory of our Mamá Lupe alive. The best way to do it was to the cook authentic Jalisco recipes that she loved to make for her 16 daug
Several people as well as my children have raved about this place, so I gave it a try. I must say the taco's were excellent, and all the other food I saw going out look amazing. Very authentic meals and friendly service. Defiantly going back for more.

Took a friend for a meal and Whoa! menu prices are out of line for Mexican food. Sorry to say that their recipes have changed and it just not as good. Bummer too, because I use to really like their food but I will be going else where from here out. If you don't care how good the food is .....

I had the fish tacos and found them to be very delicious. The prices are reasonable and the portions were huge. I always cleaned my plate, but had to take some food with me when I ate at La Cabana. I probably should not have eaten so much of the salsa and chips!Great service too!
My wife and I ordered macho burritos. Mine was grilled chicken and my wife ordered chilli Verde. After about 10 minutes, the server came out and told my wife that they ran out of the Verde. She changed it to grilled chicken also. The salsa was very mild. The burritos came and they were good but a little bland. The food tasted fine, but almost no spice. This would be a good place for people that can't have spice or heat.

On a road trip coming coming back from Oregon to the Bay Area, fast food was the last place we wanted to stop and eat at. Thankfully my friend found this place while searching online and we ended eating at this restaurant. The food is very good. I had tacos and my friends enchiladas. The gal that took our order and served our food was very nice. She has such a very good customer service skill. I accidentally spilled some salsa on their mat and as I was trying to clean it, another very nice lady told me not to worry about and she came and finish the cleaning I was doing. This place is a gem and I'll keep in mind when we're back in the area.

The moment I stepped into this place I felt like I was in a restaurant somewhere in Mexico. The ceiling has beautiful metal stars and vibrant colors everywhere. We were seated immediately. I ordered cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. The enchilada sauce is a little watered down but, still good. Plenty of cheese. The beans are super good !!! The rice is okay. For my grandson a plate of rice and beans. He loved it. ! After our meal the waiter brought us 2 pieces of buñuelos with whip cream on top. A nice treat. The service is good.
This is a small family run Mexican restaurant set inside the Chevron convenience store in Mountain Gate, just off I-5. Tasty, inexpensive food.
Decided to try the TS again. We have lived in Shasta Lake over 14 years. This place went from the Taco Den which was pretty decent to the Taco Shop. It has had some issues to say the least. We left for quite some time but were hungry and the burger places were not appealing. Off to TS we went for another visit. Staff was very friendly, a few new faces. It was very busy and all though there was a older gentleman and younger girl running the place, they made sure we were greeted and reminded a time or two that we would be served shortly. You can tell they were a bit overwhelmed and when they took our order we were told it would be about 5 minutes. They had it out in far less time. The quality was good the service was good and it was nice to eat on just $10. The fountain drinks were expensive so we took the easy way out with water. About the food ..... very American-Mexican, far from authentic. Its definitely not what you would get down south but also much higher quality than Taco Bell. It was fresh, good portions and tasted great. Not sure how long TS has been this good or how long we have been missing out over the past years, but worth going to again or just to try out.

What a disappointment! Ordered chicken fajitas with corn tortillas got flour. Portion was decent but mostly consisted of onions. My wife got the chili relleno with chicken taco. The the chicken in the taco was very dry and she couldn't eat it. The relleno had shredded white and yellow cheese in the middle that wasn't melted with what tasted like canned red chili sauce on top. Then she found a hair in it. We ordered beers that were not cold. Would have got another anyway but no one ever checked back on us. The chips and salsa were excellent but very small portion. Menu say you may have second serving but then have to pay. Never got the opportunity because we never saw a server after food was dropped off. Had to go get my check to pay. Which was awkward. Won't be back. Ever!

This has been a great place for breakfast so far--both American and Mexican style dishes! Don't let the exterior fool you. Breakfasts' are good, and nice portions; service has been warm and friendly, too. Joe's Giant Orange is easily identified by it's orange round shaped building right off the I-5. Whenever we are up north, we make it a point to stop by for breakfast.
