Reviews on Mexican food in San Juan Teotihuacan, Estado de Mexico, Mexico. Teotihuacán is a town and municipality located in the State of Mexico. It is in the northeast of the Valley of Mexico, 45 km northeast of Mexico City and 119 km from the state capital of Toluca. Teotihuacan takes its name from the ancient city and World Heritage site that is located next to the municipal seat. "Teotihuacan" is from Nahuatl and means "place of the gods." In Nahua mythology the sun and the moon were created here. The seal of the municipality features the Pyramid of the Sun from the archeological site, which represents the four cardinal directions. The building is tied to a character that represents water which is linked to an arm that is joined to the head of an indigenous person who is seated and speaking. This person represents a god. Much of the history of the area has been tied to the ancient city, most recently involves controversy connected with commerce and development around the site.

El Jaguar has service hot or cold buffet and a la carte dishes, our specialty is Mexican cuisine and have pre-Hispanic dance show and mariachis. Come and savor the flavors of our land!
Reasonably priced buffet lunch..as part of the group tour. But food was below average. Large selection but mostly cold. Nice entertainment and well ventilated and well lit dining hall. I saw grass hoppers and red worms on the menu after finishing lunch otherwise would have tried those traditional delicacies. Very close to entrance number 2.

Good food but not amazing, we ate here since we didn't know any other place nearby, we were the only couple in the restaurant and the food was served properly, though the waiter spend a lot of time chatting in the kitchen and he only checked on us once....prices are a bit high for what it is.

In addition to great food on Tuesdays and Thursdays you can get 2 for 1. That make the already good food prices even better. There are right in the heart of San Juan Teotihuacan. They deliver as well. Be sure to try the beer with salt on the rim of the glass, yummmmm.

Clotilde is a restaurant, which prepares food for the soul and soul, we offer 100% Mexican cuisine with regional products, preparing with them dishes beyond the commercial, based more on the everyday of Mexican cuisine, presenting the flavor with The touc
Many people come to Teotihuacán for the pyramids; they should stay for a meal at Clotilde! We have been traveling through the US and Canada and Mexico for the past 14 months and few restaurants have satisfied us as well as Clotilde. The menu is not âtypicalâ Mexican fare but instead is beautifully prepared, served and tasting food with an emphasis on local specialties. And while not everyone will want to try chapulines and some other local delicacies, itâs easy to discover new tastes without plunging into the unfamiliar. The restaurant is lovely and the service excellent. We enjoyed our meal here a great deal and would definitely return!

I loved the Conejo en la Luna. While in San Juan Teotihuacan visiting the pyrimids, we didn't know where to eat so we checked out a few places. As vegans, we wanted to find a place with vegan options. When we got to el Conejo en la Luna, we found out that there were plenty of things to eat. First of all, the service was outstanding. Our waiter treated us very well and a young woman who works there explained our options. The food was excellent, reasonably priced and the ambience could not have been nicer. If you like wood, the tables and chairs are made of wood as is much of the restaurant. After eating and speaking with the friendly staff, we knew that we had made the perfect choice in dining in SJT.Nos alegra poder haber cumplido con sus necesidades y por supuesto poder dejarles un muy buen sabor de boca. Los esperamos pronto.

Underground restaurant located in a natural cave, since 1906. Behind the pyramid of the sun in Teotihuacán. We want to take our guest on a unique and entertaining cultural experience. Reliving the gastronomy, legends and traditions of teotihuacán"s cultur
I was there with some customers that I took visiting the archeological site. They were recomended this place and I had never been so we decided to go.They pretend to have a good service but itâs mostly protocol, as there were about 40 empty tables (not exagerating!) but we still had to wait 10 mins to sign in our names and for a hostess to come sit us.The food choice is very limited and very expensive. There was sea bass on the season menu and that was ok, but the barbacoa (the most traditional dish in the area) was super dry. In an usual place itâs about $200-$300 pesos per kilo. Here itâs over $300 per plate of 220gr. I understand the place and service and everything, but for that price I expect the best barbacoa ever and this wasnât even good.Paying was the worst experience, because they give you a survey and they wonât let you pay until you fill it in!!! Also since I gave them a bad review they wanted to âtalk about itâ while we were just waiting to be able to pay.In the end they recite a legend (which I had already read and translated to my clients because it was printed on a little display onthe table) and light a candle which was a nice thing. The place itself ia beautiful, and I think my clients enjoyed it, but since itâs the first time they tried that food they really had no point of comparison. Now I know and I donât think Iâll ever step foot in this place again. Definitely not worth the money.

Mass buffet vibe, barely adequate quality of food... only half of which has signage. Worst Mexican food (if you can call it that) weâve had in Mexico. No much to say about the cheesy entertainment.Best to avoid if you can. Appreciate these tourist options are all over the place; but they could be a whole lot better.

Mayahuel Restaurant invites you to enjoy the best rooftop with a view of the Pyramid of the Sun, with an excellent gastronomy and the best service. Live the experience of enjoy an unforgettable view of Teotihuacan.
I came with a group and were all impressed with the quality of the food .There were traditional pre-hispanic options ,mexican options and some non Mexican food .I had the Mexicano plate which included an excellent steak which was tender and cooked as requested .A little more expensive than usual but it is out of the city and near the temples

An extreme culinary experience suspended at 45 meters high. Dinner in the Sky has been operating in more than 52 countries from 11 years.
The whole combination of an incredible place, the dishes perfectly prepared by a chef, hanging from a considerable height, the pyramids view and a nice talk and drinks make a once in a life time experience.I highly recommend it!
