Stopped here for lunch. My wife got the chicken and I got the beef fajitas - special of the day. Not sure if this place had lost its luster in the past. There was a sign that says under new owners. Our experience was very positive. Meal was out fairly quickly. Great flavors in the salsa. Charro beans were flavored with bacon to add a unique touch. Overall very pleased!!

Canât say enough good things about this place. Owner /manager offered to let me try the diff flavors on my first visit and gave me free chips and salsa while I waited on my to go order. Exceptionally good service and great tasting tacos at a very fair price - love this place. They also do large to go orders - my workplace has ordered from them....

I dined here with a friend on a weeknight and the service was extremely slow. Orders are placed at the counter and there was only one worker taking orders, getting drinks, etc. We waited in line ten minutes with maybe a dozen people ahead of us.There is a good choice of entrees that include fish, shrimp, crab legs, po boys, and gumbos. Prices are a little on the "high" side for the portions. I ordered the cold shrimp (shrimp cocktail) and hushpuppies and the cashier charged me and put the order in for the wrong amount of shrimp. I only noticed it on the ticket after sitting down at the table and just let it slide. I paid $15 for a meal and left hungry. The shrimp were very small and I had to ask two different people for lemon slices. The hushpuppies were good but nothing special. My friend ordered the crab leg/shrimp/sausage boil and it looked very good but was a costly $28 and even though it is advertised as feeding two, was perfect for one person.I had an "okay" meal here and just didn't feel that the portions and quality fit the cost. I have had much better other places. The staff seemed to be more interested in visiting with each other instead of taking orders, waiting on customers, or cleaning tables. In my opinion, this place needs a little attention before I would want to return.

This is a local "hole in the wall" Mexican food place that is one of our favorites. The food is always consistant, the drinks are strong and flavorful and the service is good. The owner is usually on site and greets everyone personally. The place is old and has no ambiance and the decor definitely needs to be updated but when the food and drinks are good, who really cares?

Came here on Black Friday and the place was empty. The food was not that good. The service was okay, and the prices were reasonable. The food just left a lot to be desired in the taste department. The salsa tasted "smoky". We ordered a cheese dip for the chips ($6.00). We will not be returning. You expect Mexican food to taste Mexicanny--not bland.

Nice little diners with my daughter and it's was a good meal with great service. I had a steak and veggies, pleasantly surprised it was cooked right and broccoli and corn were good too. Daughter had mac/cheese, was a little runny, she ate it though. The service was really attentive and excellent. Really surprised that the service was that good, been ok in the past so pleased with that.

On a busy Friday night, it didn't take long to get a table. Our orders included Pollo Flameado, Tilapia Tacos and kids meal (chicken tenders). The Pollo Flameado is especially delicious ! The chicken is tender, the poblano peppers add special something and you can choose your type of beans for side. The service was personal and prompt. The prices are very reasonable! The only thing I would recommend is a way for them to decrease the noise in the restaurant.

Located in downtown Rowlett, El Centro looks like a little homestyle Mexican restaurant. The interior was small but clean and welcoming. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Nothing was special or extraordinary - just regular TexMex food. The chips and salsa were pretty good. Our combo plates with tamales, enchiladas, tacos, rice and beans were served piping hot and were enjoyable. It was an "average" Tex Mex meal. We could have gotten the same foods and same tastes at El Fenix or El Chico.
