Itâs in a small storefront, the walls have tacky full size plastic images of Mexicans dancing - looks like a bad ethnic joke printed on clear shower curtains. We understand a business needs to economize as it starts up but really â it would look better with bare walls. That said â it gets five stars. The help was super sweet, kept the place spotless & my soda cup full. This is no Taco Bell & I suspect some of the locals may be put off by that fact. Central Mexico cooking. The homemade salsa was incredible, cilantro, tomato/tomatillo chunks & (I think) a little lemon grass with a dash of chilies. Probably the best Iâve had I the states. The chips did not keep up, they tasted a tad old and were a bit tough. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. Simply superb. The chicken was grilled perfectly, the wrapper was to-die-for & the spicing/filling was spot on. My companion had a steak burrito- also fantastic. It was not super spicy but our waitress brought two bottles of sauce to try. One â green - had some additional flavor & slight heat â the red sauce had a lot of flavor and plenty of heat. The menu is limited â I have no problem with that â better to offer just a few dynamite items than a huge menu that is boring (like the mega Mexican places in town). We will be back â soon.

My husband and I went here for lunch yesterday - his first time. The food prep area at the counter area was nasty - food all over the place - same with the cook area right behind it. There were people behind us in line that asked for white rice - they ran out and told them it would be at least 25 minutes before more would be ready - this was at 12:15 - hello, it's lunchtime. One of the employees were on their cell phone. When we sat down to eat, our food was not hot at all - I wouldn't even say it was warm. The impression that we got was that the whoever was supposed to open the restaurant that day - either got there late or didn't show up and they were scrambling to get things done.I'm not sure that I will be back anytime soon and my husband said he will never go again.

We ordered a tamale, arroz con pollo, and carnitas, and each was perfect! The arroz con pollo had broccoli and cauliflower, which was new to us, but it was a very tasty addition. The carnitas were tender and the tamale was soft and perfectly seasoned. The guacamole had more lemon in it than we prefer, and it would have been nice if our server had been a little more attentive, but the food made up for that.

This place was packed the night we ate there and for good reason. The owners and staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating. The prices were extremely fair for the huge amount of tasty food they serve. Plus my sweetheart ordered a Margarita and I swear it was bigger than her head. It was one of those rare times when everyone in the place seems to be in a good mood. We sat on the patio. Very casual and relaxed feel to this place.

My husband and I ate here for lunch and loved it. Service was quick and friendly. We tried several things on the menu and it was all good. The board games are fun while you wait for your food. We will definitely return!

The Casa Cafe in Richmond is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Bluegrass area. They have an extensive menu and the food is fresh and very authentic. The Burritos and Nacho dishes are excellent. Service is also very friendly and efficient. Well worth a stop when passing through Richmond

Was in town on business and was looking for a good restaurant for dinner. Came here because of all of the excellent reviews. The service was fantastic and the server was very attentive. The food was ok.. I ordered the fajita enchiladas.. the flavor was ok, but it lacked salt, or any spices. The beans and rice were very bland. The meat was tough and had some gristle in it. I understand that this is a Mexican and not a Tex Mex restaurant, but in general the food was bland and had no flavor to it. Just a little salt would have made a difference.
