We have been to a good amount of carne asada restaurants in Piedras Negras. There used to be a really good one named "los castores". For some reason that one closed after the last major floods. We were starting to give up on finding a new one. Until a family member took us here. The seasoning is just perfect in this place. Every type of meat is just great. About the only gripe is the chicken. A bit bland for my taste. But that is just being picky. This place is great.

This location is a restaurant and museum all-in-one. The food is upscale and delicious, the building is amazing to tour, and the waiter provided the interesting history behind the building and the location.Definitely worth the stop for anyone seeking fine-dining south of the border! Due to the exchange rate, the costs, while fine-dining quality, is much more in line with mid-range prices. Desserts are to die for!
Mx Bistro is a restaurant concept with a special, elegant but classic ambience.

It would be excellent if they did not insist in having a display vehicle from ford at the entrance, when we go , we take a person that has difficulty walking and I do not have handicap plates I have already told them the ford vehicle parked at the entrance makes it difficult to access the restaurant, they ignored my suggestion we migth have to go somewhere else since it seems access to handicap persons is not a priority, wheelchair ramp is too steep for easy access.Otherwise food is good prices reasonable, service good.

Great restaurant for not your typical mexican antojitos, portions are large, and most people tend to over order, you select from the menu one at a time, flautas sopes tortas pelliscadas etc salsas are very good. on my last visit I wanted to try the torta medio ahogada, but it was hotter that what I expected but it was good, would order again but no chile. otherwise everything else is great you can not go wrong, they have two seating areas, we prefer the one with no tv, less noise, service always prompt, everything looked clean and organized.

Went with a group of Business associates...the food was very good and everyone enjoyed the meal. I had the "Plato Mexicano". Which was a combo of taco, chile con carne, and tamale. It was very good...also try the chorizo queso with warm tortillas...

This is the only restaurant that I can say replaces "El Moderno", elegant with great ambiance and service, menu has been expanded to include not only beef, Prices are reasonable for this type of restaurant, around $25 USD per person, ample wine selection, they have a nice private section for large groups. Our plates could have used a little bit more seasoning, but it is easier to add than to remove.Plenty of free parking.

We stopped at Barrokas for dinner in January on a Wednesday night. Nice upscale feel. We sat out on the deck, really cozy and comfortable on couches. Great food and great attentive service. The restaurant had quite a crowd for a Wednesday. Only negative comment was the loud 80's music videos playing on wide screen TVs throughout dinner.Worth a visit!
