...sometimes your taste buds can get knocked on their ear. Phelan, Cal. is remote -- the highway that goies into town doesn't come back out. But there's a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in a strip mall there that knows how to make Mexican. The portions are huge, but more importantly, they are flavorful. I had the Red Snapper Mexico -- and I'm not much of a snapper fan -- and was treated to great flavors. The grilled fillet comes topped with shrimp, scallops and octopus in a red sauce. The abundance of seafood was great for $17.95. My wife had a cheese enchilada (only average) and a beef tamal which she liked very much. Our friend ordered the chile verde burrito which was good ... and enough for at least two meals.I had drive hundreds of miles that day. The hotel we stayed at, which we thought was in Phelan, was actually 12 miles outside of town. I was not crazy about getting back into the car and driving a dozen miles more for dinner. But the food at Mexico Lindo brought a smile to this weary driver's face. Given it's remote location, the extensive menu and the quality of the food, it was one of the best meals I've had in years.
We ate here a couple of times while we stayed at the Best Western next door. The food was good, fresh, and hot. The place was crowded; there isn't much room for customers.

This is the only restaurant by our home so we go here a lot. Thank goodness there food is always spot on good. The owner and other employees are amazing. Raphel always has a smile on his face. You never go wrong with drinks either. It's free pouring and the drinks always taste good. It's sad that they want to sell. So go into he does.

It is hard to believe that 2 of the best Mexican Restaurants are right here in and near the San Bernardino Ski community of Wrightwood. The servers are always very warm and attentive. There is a very nice selection of entrees including several tasty seafood dishes and just the most wonderful Carnitas Plates / options available. The salsa has a nice kick, but so do the Margaritas. They have a 5¢ Margarita special with any combo dinner a couple of days each week and usually a happy hour special as well. During the spring / summertime, sitting out on the lower patio to watch the day go by is a nice treat. This is a favorite for PC Trail hikers to make a stop and take a break with a real meal and a cold drink as well. (Always fun to chat and catch up with their adventures) They also have an amazing Sunday Brunch spread with everything from classic Chile Rellenos, Enchiladas, Ribs & all the complements to Waffles, Omelettes made to order plus fresh fruit and desserts. (I believe there is also complimentary Champagne too.)
