After 3 tries ... I gave up on this place. But something happened there about 6 months ago. And the place has gotten much better. Ive now been there 7-8 times, and it keeps getting better. The bar was always good. The food was is pretty good ... but the service WAS terrible. Give credit where credit is due. The service has gotten good. The food is now very good. And the bar is still very good. Mix it up when you order ... good variety.I suspect a new manager. Or a new chef. Either way .... this place now deserves a place in your regular restaurant rotation.

Excited to try for the first time after reading positive reviews. Ordered steak Fajita burritos, chicken enchiladas, cheese quesadillas and jalapeño poppers. With the size of our order ($95) we received two free orders of chips and their homemade salsa. The poppers were small, 6 in an order, and came on a plate with some lettuce and sour cream. I'm sure you can do better out of the freezer at your supermarket, although I have a strong sense that may be where they came from. The burritos were a pretty good size but sadly lacked flavor. My wife, a very positive person by nature, had nothing good to say about the enchiladas. My grandsons, who have had the burritos and poppers before, were happy but when I was asking what they wanted they both said their tacos were not good, hence we ordered what we did. I added a star because they liked what they had; but, we won't be ordering from there again.

What makes a Mexican restaurant stand out from the others? Service, food, and decor. Don Quijote's offers a rustic decor where you feel as if you have been invited to someone's hacienda. The table side gaucomale was fantastic! The mojito was prepared perfectly-- finely chopped mint! The sangria was fruity and the nachos were bountiful. My carne asada was prepared just the way I like it, and it came with yucca potato, rice beans, a mixed salad, and plantains. The paela had just the right balance of fish and meat and the burrito was huge and tasty! They gave me so much I had to bring half of it home. The fried ice cream was a real treat

Quaint restaurant along Main Street in Patchogue. Live music was the perfect accompaniment to our meal. Can't say enough about the salad. Very filling and tasty. Loved the complementary chips too. We had debated an appetizer. Glad we didn't get one since meal was very filling on its own.

Ordered here twice in the last month. Maybe it's just me with the typical Type A New York personality, but both times I felt I had to wait too long for my order. The first time I was there, I had to wait a long time just to place the order, and there was no one ahead of me. It seemed as though the employees we only concerned about the drive up customers. The food, however, was excellent both times.
